The perennially outgoing, statuesque jock, Denise, had always caught your fancy, and you've been great friends with her ever since you first met back in freshman year, her confidence, coolness, and beauty leaving an impression that never really went away. You'd attended every game of Denise's you could make it to, cheering her on as she led the girls basketball team, the 'Peregrines' to victory after victory.

The giant young woman always appreciated having you around, excitedly talking with and teasing you often, both before and after games, and everywhere else you hung out, in school or otherwise, be that changing a tire on an old beat up car, or messing around at the local guitar store, loving the way you were in awe of her, but possibly not realizing just how hardcore of a crush you had on her, in spite of the way the big, sexy girl typically loved to chase boys.

You wondered occasionally whether she was just shy when around you, but always dismissed such a ridiculous thought; Denise? Shy? Ha! More likely than that, you (wrongly) assumed, she just doesn't feel the same way back, and even though it hurt, you were beginning to accept only having an amazing, fun, emotionally fulfilling friendship with her, but, you decided that coming clean and confessing your feelings to the beautiful basketball player would be the best thing you could do at this juncture in your relationship.

On the other hand, with the kind of luck you've had this morning, today didn't seem like the best day to see Denise, much less admit your feelings for her. But, you were going to meet with the tall, dusky, jock this afternoon, whether you intended to or not!
