Chapter 33 by hammerheadstories

Can you resist the temptation?

You follow the light

Your willpower finally breaks down under the wisp's enchantment. It is just such a curious little thing. It would go against human nature not to investigate, would it not? Your last **** thoughts are drowned out by the simple desire to follow the light. As you get closer the blue flame dances a step back into the deep dark forest, practically begging you to follow. You wordlessly obey and, after the briefest hesitation, cross the tree line and enter the foreboding forest.

Even so entranced you cannot help but be terrified as you are led deeper and deeper. You can hear movement all around you, the skittering of small creatures, the flap of wings, the footfalls of larger beasts. The moonlight cannot penetrate the canopy of leaves so you are blind to the sources of the noise. The only light is the dim blue wisp you are so intent on following.

At some point, your dress slips off your body, exposing your nude body to the night air. It barely registers in your mind, though your fear rises with the increased vulnerability. All the eyes in the forest seem to be locked on to you. The nude maiden lost in the haunted woods. You can almost feel their breath on your skin, your mind focusing on the wisp just to stay sane now.

In such a situation it is easy to lose track of time. You do not know how long you have been following the blue light, naked and hypnotized. You only know that you can see the night slowly fading into the morning. A dim glow begins to illuminate the forest, and with it, your destination is revealed. It is a small cottage built into a hill. There are no windows, just a small door sitting ajar. Above the hill is a dead oak tree, its trunk hollowed out by years of rot. This seems to serve as the home's chimney, and you can see a small stream of smoke coming from within.

What happens next?
