You ditch the boots

With both of your feet stuck in place, you know you are in a really bad situation and need to act fast. You pull one leg, then the other, to see how stuck you are, and neither foot moves at all. You duck as another sticky glob whizzes over your head. You need to try something else before you get stuck for good!

Accepting that you can't get your boots unstuck before you get hit again, you decide to change your tactics. You crouch down and begin furiously undoing the laces of your boots. You manage to undo the laces of your right boot enough to pull your foot out just before another projectile lands on on top of it, the sticky fluid slowly flowing down the hole your leg just vacated moments before. With one leg down, the second is much faster. You pull your foot from the stuck boot in record time and leap forward just as another projectile lands squarely on your left boot.

Your assailant doesn't seem to be very smart, as while you are scrambling away you watch the strange creature shoot at your discarded boots over and over again. By the time you make your way around a corner, you almost can't tell what was there to begin with as the boots are completely covered in sticky slime.

You heave a heavy sigh of relief as you continue down the hallway. Though the feeling of the cold stone floor on your feet makes you regret that you had to leave your boots behind, you are glad that you could make it out of that situation unscathed.
