You did

You hadn't heard from Minka in a few weeks' time, and truth be told, you were starting to worry that she either wasn't pregnant or had lost your number when you heard from her one day.

"Minka...does this mean what I think it means?" you ask her, not really knowing the most polite way to ask about something like that, but hoping that this call was bringing good news.

"Yes it does John...I'm pregnant," she tells you, almost giddy as she makes the announcement to you, barely letting it sink in before beginning to discuss things further with you.

"Minka, baby, whatever you need me to be there for, I'll be there for you," you tell her as she wanders aloud whether she was really ready for this, assuring her with your words that you would help her through it, but really wishing you could hold her as you say those same things to her.

"I don't know what I did to deserve such a great man, but whatever it is, I hope I keep doing it so you never leave me," she tells you as she starts to make arrangements to meet you for dinner that night.

"And I would've told you sooner, but I've been so busy I just found out myself," she tells you as she hangs up the phone, telling you she's looking forward to seeing you again so that you can talk about the baby face-to-face.
