You comfort Katherine.

You're too nice of a guy to leave Katherine behind. You know that's the kind of horrible memory that's engraved into a mind and sticks forever. Feeling really guilty for what you've done, your head clear now that your sexual excitement has died, you prepare yourself to comfort the sister who's feelings you've hurt.

"I'd better help her out. I feel really bad." You say to Emma, with a hint of guilt present within your voice. She looks at you with a smile. You can see clearly through her smile, as it' not genuine, but filled with disappointment.

"All right, just hurry up." She says, with a tinge of grief present in her voice. From what you can gather, she's probably the jealous type of sister, always running competition. Katherine is the younger one, so she probably received most of the attention, which Emma craved. You quickly dress and fix up your clothes. Emma silently stares at you with her big blue eyes, as she nervously bites her bottom lip.

You leave the car and sit on the curb next to Katherine. "Hey, I'm sorry Kath..." You begin to speak. You're genuinely sorry, but still, that is no excuse for what you did. You lost all reason and sense, for what, only momentary passion.

"I just want to go home now," Katherine responds to your full-hearted apology. There's no way she'll forgive you that quickly, you're not even sure if she ever will. You also consider Emma's feeling, you slept with her, and that had to mean something. She must at least like you a little as well; otherwise she wouldn’t have gone that far, well that is how you reason it. You reach to put your arm around Katherine's shoulder, but she brushes your attempt away.

"Don't touch me, all right," she grouchily says. "Come in the car," you respond, feeling a little hurt, even though you deserved it. She looks directly at you with her glossy eyes. She stands up, brushing the dirt off her bottom. The two of you hop into the back of the car. Emma is now dressed and back in the driver’s seat. The two sisters do not speak. Only silence fills the car, making you feel very uncomfortable. You want a conversation to start so it can take your mind off the deep guilt you feel for your terrible actions.

"So, what do you plan on doing now?" Emma curiously asks, breaking the saddening silence. She looks into the backseat at you and the heartbroken Katherine. You stare deep into her eyes, and you can see that she's hurting as well. She's not as uncaring as you previously thought. You have to be just as sensitive to her as you are to Katherine. You don't really know how to answer her question. If you offer to take Katherine to the dance, then Emma will feel like she's in second place, and will be deeply hurt. If you ask Emma out, Katherine will be torn apart even more. You cannot win. You're going to hurt someone, one-way or the other. The only way for you to truly answer is to follow your heart.
