You begin to worry that you’ll gain nothing of value.

One of the first tasks you are given by Cyborg is cleaning up the aftermath of the party that took place the last time you were in the Tower. While he and Beast Boy both claim to have cleaned up the worst of it, there’s still enough of a mess that you spend nearly 4 days cleaning it all up. It might have only taken 2 and a half at most, but you were also called for other jobs around the Tower as well.

But once that matter was taken care of, the next couple of days were not nearly as bad. Cyborg occasionally asked for your assistance with some personal projects of his, namely his car. For the most part, that consisted of handing him the right tools and holding onto anything until he needed it again. If you had any hopes of sabotaging his car, odds are he’d discover it fairly quickly. At this point, he knows every inch of his car’s design as well as his own body. Beyond that, the two of you “bond” over some of the social media exploits of your former co-workers from the pizza place. In order to maintain cover, you hadn’t seen any real reason to dismiss those connections. Especially since you owed your entire infiltration to them.

Cyborg enjoys himself, although you can tell that at times he’s rather envious and jealous of their “lifestyle”. Perhaps that chink in his psychological armor is larger than you were led to believe. Still, in the interest of “friendship”, you play the supportive friend and try encouraging him to start taking a few minor risks every now and then if he truly wants to explore that kind of fame. It’s impossible to gauge how much Cyborg has given thought on the matter this early, but if the results are promising then you have every confidence that you can quickly push him on the path to a quick downward spiral caused by the ever unforgiving temperment of millions of online opinions.
