What do you do?
You ask for directions.
''To be honest, I didn't book a hotel. The plan was to travel from place to place playing some music, never sleeping in the same place twice. Do you know a place nearby with an open stage policy? Or at least just some nice places to have a drink and get to know the people. Maybe you could show me where you like to spend time after duty hours are over?'' As you carefully watch her reactions before you begin a new sentence you know she's interested enough to answer the first two and you have high hopes that she'll answer the last question too. Her partner seems a little nervous, jealous maybe? Maybe he likes her, might even be her boyfriend. You'll have to investigate that, it's one of the few hard rules you have about which women you date: if she already has a relationship, she's not for you.
''I don't go out a lot myself, well not to a lot of different places at least. I can tell you where my favorite bar is, it has an open stage once a week, I think it's actually today. It is an unofficial cop bar though, so most customers are cops. The bartender there knows a lot of good places to have fun or meet people so you could just ask her. Oh, I could also give you directions to a gym and a music store. You know, in case you need something for guitar maintenance.'' Good, you have options now. You also noticed that her partner has been checking his watch basically every five seconds so maybe he's just nervous about being late for something.
