Chapter 4 by agenteightysix agenteightysix

Do you try to escape?

You aren't given the chance

You spend a moment frozen in place, contemplating your fate and trying to figure out the best direction to run in the busy square. Your hesitation ends up being your downfall, as Nell quickly notices you've stopped and brusquely grabs your wrist to pull you to the next step towards your enslavement. You are stopped in front of a smithy already inspecting a metal collar identical to the ones you saw on the slaves awaiting auction. Nell places his hand on the small of your back and pushes you forward while handing the smith his slip of paper with the other. The smith looks you up and down and smiles, congratulating Nell on his "find".

The collar is quickly fitted around your neck. Much to your dismay, it is not just snapped into place, but when the two halves of the collar close around your neck, you see a magical glow emanate from the collar as the two pieces fuse into a single, smooth piece all the way around. You are slightly surprised that the collar doesn't completely weigh you down, but it is still thick enough to constantly remind you of its presence. The only break in the metal is a small loop in the front, to which Nell hooks a small metal tag which the smith has just finished stamping your new master's name onto. Even if you tried to run away now there's no way you could get this collar off by yourself, and you would be quickly returned to the man who enslaved you. With your **** collar complete, any hope you had of ever being a free person again dies, and you shamefully shamefully follow behind Nell as he makes his way through the market.

What does Nell do with you?
