Chapter 5
by
Stelluna
Do you fall prey to the ambush?
You aren't an amateur. Of course not.
Somewhat expecting betrayal, you quickly step to the side, grab your attacker's arm and throw her to the ground. She quickly goes for a slice at your legs with her knife but you parry her strike with your armored leggings. You stomp on her back, knocking the wind out of her before putting your blade to her throat.
"I would advise you start talking. Quickly." You say, "You have exactly 10 seconds before I make a decision."
"You really are good."
Wait what?
"I was the one who sent you the message. I wasn't lying when I said that I wanted you to teach me. This was my way of seeing if you had could teach me. Thought that most players were over exaggerating when they said you were nearly untouchable. Guess I still have a lot to learn. I know it may not seem like the best introduction so I will let you do anything to me, to prove my loyalty."
A great opportunity, but how to use it? A small, hidden brand would be a way of ensuring loyalty but illusion spells and glamor are in abundance. You could get her to give up some of her contacts or equipment. Taking a majority and giving it back as she completed lessons would be an alternative. However, she doesn't seem like the materialistic type considering her message and her simple, if practical gear. Now would be a good time to try and get a feel of her character.
What do you do next?

Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
