You are!

The battle is nerve wracking as you and your opponent lose Pokemon one by one. You send out your last Pokemon in little more than an act of diffidence. Magikarp flops onto the battlefield against your opponent's Voltorb, a Pokemon that itself looks just like a Pokeball. But you keep your cool. The Voltorb is poisoned and already gravely weakened. You can still win if this stupid fish will just hold out! And before Voltorb can even move, it succumbs to the poison and falls.

"You did it! You did it! You did it!!" Catherine chants, running over to you and almost tackling you in a hug. She plants a joyous kiss right on your cheek and you can't help but smile.

"W-wait, are you two..." your defeated opponent wonders out loud to himself.

Suddenly Catherine's jubilation curbs as she releases you. "What? N-no! We're not... That is to say..."

You chuckle at how cute she looks flustered before taking both fossils as well as your leave. The end of the cave was close, no need to dawdle. At least, it had to be for your sake...
