You Try To Find Out

You took a step forward, looking closer at "princess". She looked so blissful like that. Far happier and more at peace then he'd ever seen her on campus before. Then she looked up, having only just noticed your arrival. Her head tilted and her beautiful black hair ran over her shoulder. Then you saw it. A glimmer of recognition in her eyes....only to be followed by panic. Without warning, the puppy that seems to be Kin started rolling around in a circle while yelping.

Your tour guide jumped into action, going into the cage and running his hand in his hair while trying to shush her. But, she still was looking right at you. It was hard to tell if it was fear or embarrassment or whatever else. As a collared pet, she couldn't exactly explain her reasoning in detail.

"What's she doing?" You asked, trying to stop being stunned for just a second. They can't know you're her friend. They can't know. "Did I set her off somehow?"

"I don't know." Micah sighed. He turned back to you and gave you a reassuring, but clearly troubled smile. "The girls in here aren't properly trained yet, so stuff like this happens sometimes. This one is a very special girl." He rubbed her belly softly. That really helped calm her down. "Yes she is. Yes she is."

After a few minutes, he walked out of the room, replaced by a frantic looking trainer. Micah directed you out of the room, and the door shut once more behind you. With Kin still there in the room. Part of you wanted to punch Micah in the face, run in there and rescue your friend/crush, and run out. Suffice to say, that was not the best option.

"Who was that gi...puppy?" You asked him.
