You Run Away

As much as you'd love to save this hapless victim from his rubbery attacker, you'd much rather just save yourself from ending up in his position. Without much hesitation, you immediately turn tail and run. The monster, noticing your sudden sprint, leaves his current meal to give chase.

You dash through the streets, leaping over fences and diving through bushes, all the while hearing the heavy panting of the purple pursuer hot on your heels. Hoping to lose him, you cut into a series of alleyways, moving haphazardly through them. The sound of the wolf gets more distant and then ceases soon after, but you aren't content to just assume that you've gotten away so you continue to run. Eventually, you reach an exit from that maze of alleys and find yourself running alongside another person, one who looks just as exhausted and confused as you are. He looks at you with a puzzled look.

"What are you running from?"

"Werewolf made of rubber. You?"

"Same idea. Panther though."

With just that short exchange, you know immediately that you've found yourself an ally, someone else who's seen the same kinds of things you have and who will, at the very least, believe your maddened ramblings. With both of you satisfied that your respective animal men have given up on catching you, you both sit down for a moment to catch your breath.

"Hey, I'm Steve." The young man flicks his long brown hair out of his eyes before extending a hand to you, one you gladly shake. "Looks like we're in this one together, huh?"
