Most damningly, the name that you'd been given-- Vanessa Pillay-- didn't correspond to any scientist on payroll before the CEDIT South Africa incident. That seemed to make it clear that the scientist persona was some kind of fabrication, or, otherwise, she was a deception artist even back at that time.

"Are you sure? I mean... Are we going to trust Adder Adjutant's word on that?" Goodbye sounded wishy-washy... You knew she had a fair few beefs with Vaarvel, but she didn't seem eager to damn the figure that had been most instrumental in the formation of the Goodbye Girls.{endif}{if Vaarvel Affinity > 199}

Despite saying all of this, were you okay with turning your back on Vaarvel? If CEDIT decided she was the mole and if it was for the good of international security, even her considerable skills couldn't save her from the full brunt of CEDIT's power. They wouldn't pussy-foot around and send one assassin after her. A more rapid means of ending her threat could be decided upon... You asked Goodbye that, in the end, you would be allowed to take care of the matter in your own way.
