She presses her wet face against your chest.

"Th-thank you," she says. "It helps to know you're struggling like I am. But Daddy, what if he..." she pauses and sniffs "what if he...makes us...do it again but this time face-to-face?" She looks up at you. "Will you go through with it?" Her thighs clench on your leg as she asks the question.

You think about it for a minute and already know the answer, but she doesn't need to know it. Not yet. "We'll cross that bridge if it comes. For now, let's try to get some sleep, okay?"

As required by the blackmailer you lean in and kiss your daughter on the lips. This time you both linger longer than ever. Another standoff as you both wait to see if the other will make it more passionate. Based on how today has gone you're surprised when she doesn't. Instead, she simply sighs so you can feel her warm breath on your lips and smell her minty fresh breath. Ashly turns away from your body but this time she doesn't scootch away. She stays close enough so your pinky is touching her back and her foot is against your thigh.

Two more nights. You only need to make it two more nights. You stare into the dark wondering what "adjustments" to the rules the blackmailer will make in the morning.
