Chapter 7 by AddickTara
Does he accept?
Yes
You watch as Tyrone and Max get back into the car. Once they're in you shut the door and slide into the drivers seat before starting the engine.
“Where to?” you ask.
“Straight down this road,” he said, pointing.
They drove along in silence until you finally ask, “Do you live alone?”
“No,” Tyrone said.
“Your parents?”
“My grandma.”
“Are you close to your grandma?”
“Not really. She’s kind of old.”
“Maybe you could be nicer to her,” you suggest.
“Maybe.”
“Have you been to school recently?” you ask.
“Not really,” he said.
“Why not?”
“I just didn’t like it, so I stopped going.”
“I would hate to see your grades.”
“I don’t have any. I got kicked out.”
“Why?”
“I was caught stealing.”
“Oh. What did you steal?”
“I stole some money. It was in a purse.”
“Whose purse was it?”
“I don’t know. It was in the teacher’s lounge. I don’t know whose it was.”
“Who caught you?”
“The principal. She caught me in the act.”
Do you try and find out more?

Life of the Divorcee
It begins
After many years of marriage, Brenda Barker never imagined she’d be starting over. But when her husband ditches her after she's caught cheating at the local health spa Brenda is left with a modest house, an overgrown garden, and a long-overdue reckoning with who she really is. What begins as a shaky stumble into singlehood—burnt dinners, awkward solo brunches, and tearful nights with wine and reruns—soon becomes a bold exploration of self. With the unexpected help of her two teenage sons, and new neighbours, Brenda rediscovers not just joy, but a version of herself she hadn’t seen in decades.
