Chapter 11 by Enasia Enasia

Do they win?

Yes

After the ten minutes are up my wife and I end up victorious. The host comes over and hands us a little trophy. A photographer is standing to the left of the stage and I turn towards him. I know that this photo will end up in the upcoming town newspaper as a fluff piece that’s done every year. He takes a picture with us smiling as we hold the trophy together. We head down off the stage afterward.

We continue to hang around close by and some men dressed in drag walk up to us. One of them, who seems rather flamboyant, says, “I love how you two look. We run a drag show in the neighborhood. We would love it if you two would come.”

Letting my voice return to normal I say, “This was only supposed to be a one-time thing.”

“That’s such a shame,” he says, seeming disappointed.

“Wait,” Macy says, “We still might come by.”

“Great!” he says and they walk off.

“What was that about?” I ask, “I'm not doing this again.”

“Come on,” she says, “You look great, why not take advantage.

“Look,” but I am interrupted by some shouting from the stage.

What's next?
