Chapter 8 by reaper13
is it time to visit your captive?
Yes, it is
It has been almost a week since the night you captured her. During this week you have wanted to go to her, but haven't been able to find the time. Now, finally, there was nothing urgent enough going on that could keep you from her.
You traveled to the deepest level of the dungeon, to that dark place where she was safely hidden. Unlike the usual captives, she was not held in a cell, but in a room. It was a prison intended for people from noble blood, and the amount of luxury provided was appropriate.
When you entered this room you saw a lot of candles were burning. They didn't quite light up the room so well, but for a creature of darkness, it was probably not necessary.
Even though there was so few light, you did see your prisoner sitting in a comfortable chair. She was reading a book, or at least before you entered her room she was. Right now, she was looking at you.
"So, my captor has come for me." She mused.
"Yes, I'm sorry." You said with a faint smile. "It has been a busy week."
"A week indeed." She replied.
She then stood up from her chair and stepped into the light. You were quite surprised with what you saw. It was still her, only her skin was all wrinkled.
"You have ... changed." You said hesitantly.
"That is what happens when vampires like myself don't drink blood for a week." She informed you. "Our skin begins to dry out, wrinkle like that of an old person. After that our bodies grow thin, similar to someone with anorexia."
You were quite surprised with this revelation. In the past you had learned quite a bit on how to destroy vampires, but not quite on how they lived.
"Let me guess." You said. "You can heal from this, but you need to bite someone first?"
"Not necessarily." Was her answer. "I just need to drink some blood, that is all."
She took a glass goblet adorned with gold from the table and offered it to you.
"If you would be so kind?"
So she wanted your blood. Well, with her condition, you couldn't quite blame her. Besides, you preferred her when she wasn't wrinkled.
With your right hand you took a dagger from your belt. Next, you held your left wrist over the goblet and cut it. Blood flowed out of your wound and filled the goblet. Once you felt you had given enough, you cast a spell to heal your wound. The vampiress didn't waste much time and quickly placed the goblet to her lips.
She drank your blood as if it was a nectar. Like it was the most delicious thing the had ever had.
When she had emptied the goblet, she placed it back on the table. In the light of the candles, you saw her pale skin change. The wrinkles disappeared and it became smooth.
"Thank you." The vampiress said. "Is there anything you would like in return?"
"Really?" You asked surprised. "I can just ask?"
"You did something for me." She answered. "It would be rude not to do return the favor."
You crossed your arms in front of your chest and said "If we don't want to be rude, shouldn't we first offer each other our names?"
"My apologies. My name is lady Doe." The vampiress introduced herself while making a small bow.
You offered a similar bow in return and intropduced yourself as well "Lord John."
"So then, lord John. How can I repay you?" Doe repeated her previous question.
What do you ask her to do?
