Chapter 53 by SotF SotF

Onward and homeward?

Yep. It's family time.

For all of Mason’s talk, he found himself missing Yumi and Vina the second he stepped out the front door. That wasn’t unusual. He liked spending time with them after all. It was just a much more acute feeling than he was used to. And even that wasn’t that weird when he thought about it. If he missed his friends when they were **** to split up, it was only logical it would be worse being separated from his girlfriends.

He needed a distraction. So even if he didn’t have gloves he took out his phone. The teen would check Luxuria. Cold fingers be damned. Unfortunately, the app didn’t offer much. Yumi had another 30 silver. While Vina earned 35 thanks to a little extra canoodling. But nothing earth-shattering. Beyond the fact that he had some coinage to spend. But he would at least get out of the cold before figuring out how to spend it.

When he walked inside his home his nose was hit by several scents. Oregano, thyme, basil, tomatoes, and… bell peppers? Mason wasn’t quite sure. Growing up with Tegan in the kitchen trained him to sniff out ingredients. But there was one that clashed with the others. One that wasn’t wafting out of the kitchen, but was steaming out of a mug in the living room.

“Hola mijo,” Rayen said, sipping on her black coffee. She was relaxing on the couch, watching some old kung fu movie. A not-so-guilty pleasure of hers.

“Hola mama,” Mason said. He set his backpack down and rubbed his hands together to warm them up a little. To make his Mamita happy he decided to keep speaking in Spanish. “You’re home early.

Yes,” The lawyer sighed with a relieved smile. “We’re in the hurry up and wait mode at work. So might as well do that here. Actually, see my family. Got a second to chat?

The Latina woman patted the spot on the couch next to her. Not really having an excuse (and realizing he really hadn’t gotten to see his mama in a while) he nodded and walked over to her. Clearly, she wasn’t expecting to get called in again tonight. Rayen had looked downright casual. She had taken off her shoes and even her stockings. The ottoman had been pulled over in front of the couch and she had propped her bare legs to rest on it, crossed at the ankle. Her pencil skirt rode up slightly as she leaned back on the couch, showing off more leg than she ever would at work. Mamita had also taken off her jacket and tie, rolling up the sleeves of her white blouse and undoing the top few buttons. She wasn’t trying to be provocative. But with breasts as massive as hers, it didn’t take much to show off plenty of cleavage.

Mason had to admit Rayen looked good. Doubly so given her age. Then the nerdy teen blinked and blushed. Nope. No. No way. Noticing how attractive his sister was made him feel dirty enough. He had no intention of doing anything like that with his mother. Not even his non-biological mother.

He sat on the couch, leaving plenty of room between them. Rayen straightened up a bit so she could face her son a little easier. And Mason tried not to notice the smooth, bare skin visible just below her collar.

So what’s up?” Mamita asked casually.

Oh, um, same old same old,” He said awkwardly. That was a lie. The outsized teen just hoped it wasn’t an obvious one. It wasn’t like he could actually come clean about what was going

Come on Mason,” Rayen chided him. She literally wagged her finger at him, but at least she was smiling as she did. Well, smirking. “You know that’s not going to fly. What about school? How are things going?

It’s fine,” Her son explained. He didn’t know if it was a mom thing or a lawyer thing, but the Mexican woman never let him get away with non-answers. At least Viv was in the same boat. “I’m just keeping my grades up until graduation. I did have to stay late the last two days.

Are you in trouble?” His mother asked sternly. After raising her wild daughter, she had learned to go from zero to disciplinarian in one second flat. She fixed her bespectacled child with an iron glare.

No! No! Nothing like that,” Mason explained, waving his hands like he was trying to deflect her gaze. When the short woman relaxed, with a grateful smile reforming on her face, he continued. “I was just helping Vice-Principal Rosso move some equipment around while the gym teacher was sick.

That is very kind of you mijo,” Rayen said, pride ringing in her voice. She leaned forward and patted his knee affectionately. The blond teen looked straight into her brown eyes. Desperately trying not to notice that she had just given him a view right down her shirt. He definitely hadn’t seen the tops of her white bra cups. (Thank god she hadn’t taken that off too.) And if he did he was sure it was Lilith’s fault somehow.

His phone chimed in his pocket, but Mason didn’t pull it out. He could argue with the demoness later.

Did she offer to write you a recommendation letter?” Rayen asked.

Mamita, please!” Mason moaned. The indignation gave the blush in his cheeks some sort of plausible deniability.

What?” The Latina woman said, drawing out the word to the breaking point.

I already have four recommendation letters.” He pointed out. His mama had been looking over his shoulder through the entire college application process. Clearly, she didn’t want another underachiever to deal with.

So? It’s not like another could hurt,” Rayen countered.

My applications are already in the mail,” Mason deadpanned. But Mamita seemed wholly unfazed by his ironclad logic.

You might end up needing more. You never know,” She said with a shrug.

Can’t I just do something nice for the sake of being nice?” He tried not to whine. He mostly succeeded. But it had the desired effect. Rayen relaxed and gave her son a touched, proud smile.

Of course, you can mijo. I’m sorry,” She said warmly. She took a long sip of her coffee but spoke again immediately after. “What about your personal life? Any news?

Not really…” Mason recoiled a bit at the sudden change of topic. “It was nice to hang out with Vina and Yumi today. A week is a long time to not see your friends.

And how are they doing?” Rayen asked nonchalantly. “Yumi and Vina, I mean.

They’re good. I think we’re all just ready to be done with high school,” He told her. But he also observed her. Mamita’s face was too calm. Too composed. And the hairs on the back of his neck told him this was more pointed than a simple, maternal check-up. “Is everything okay, Mama?

Of course. Why do you ask?” Rayen said innocently.

Mason just raised an eyebrow at that. Did she really think that would work? She herself had thought him better than that. Realizing he wasn’t fooled, the Latina woman let out a deep, beleaguered sigh. Suddenly she looked a lot more tired.

This case has been a long one. Long and involved,” Rayen said that last word with an extra dose of venom. Mason recognized that as code for “a pain in the ass.” He didn’t always understand the jargon Mamita spouted when griping about her job. Especially when she kept switching language mid-sentence. But he could tell that her team had done what they could to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. It seemed like she was the only reason they were on the verge of winning. It gave him flashbacks to various group projects he had worked on throughout his scholastic career.

But now it’s almost over,” The Mexican woman said, relief washing over her. “And now that I can spare the brain cells, I realize how much I’ve missed you all. And I guess I just wanted to reconnect a little. Especially with you.

Me?” Mason asked, shocked. Surely if Rayen especially wanted to spend time with anyone it would be Tegan. But His mother just gave him a slightly frustrated look.

Oh come on. You’ll be going off to college soon. I might not get a lot more time to mother you.” The black-haired woman wasn’t really talking to him at that point. She was really addressing the empty space she was frowning at.

It’s not like I’ll never visit,” The blond tried to reassure her. He wanted to figure out a less cliche way of saying that she would always be his Mamita.

I know you’ll need to do laundry eventually,” Rayen joked. It was a surprisingly cheerful one. “I’m not devastated or anything that dramatic. It’s just the end of an era. And I guess I’m not as ready for an empty nest as I thought.

Mason decided that it wasn’t the best time to point out that Viv would have to move out before the nest was really empty. Instead, he scooted across the couch until he could put a hand on the short lawyer’s shoulder.

I don’t mind spending some time together,” The gigantic teen said. After all, Mamita actually made a decent point. He had been so wrapped up in the possibilities of the app that he had almost forgotten his platonic relationships. And it really had been forever since he had spent any real time with his Mexican mom.

Good because once these dicks settle mother-son time is coming for you whether you like it or not,” Rayen said with a cocksure smile. She pulled her tall son down into a hug and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. “Just don’t tell your mom I cursed in front of you.

I haven’t yet,” Mason said conspiratorially. Though it wasn’t technically true. He vaguely recalled telling on his mama when she had said “butt” in front of him. It was quite the scandal at the time.

And remember, you can always talk to me if you need to. This is gonna be a pretty crazy part of your life. So if you want to tell me something you can. I promise I can keep a secret.” She spoke confidently, but also honestly. The Latina woman wasn’t just blowing smoke. And she had the career to back up her claim.

I know. I will.” He played the conversation in his head. You see Mamita, I recently made a deal with a demon. Well, demoness. Well, arch-demoness. Of lust. She gave me a magic phone app called Luxuria that can help me seduce and even modify the women in my life. Not you obviously. Though I might be adding Viv to my harem because I’m a complete degenerate. Oh yeah, the harem. I’m putting one together because Yumi has this crazy kink where she wants me to fuck other women. We secretly started a few days ago. I’m also dating Vina. And maybe one of my teachers too after tomorrow night. You were definitely right by the way. This is going to be a pretty crazy time in my life.

Mason probably wouldn’t be saying any of that out loud anytime soon. But the way Rayen was looking at him made it clear she expected him to say something.

I promise?” The blond said lamely, readjusting his glasses to hide his discomfort. Hopefully, that didn’t make him look guilty.

Alright, mijo,” The Mexican woman said. She probably wanted a different answer. Or at least for it to not come out as a question. But she was a lot better at maintaining her composure. Not to the same degree as her wife, but certainly better than her daughter. At least she didn’t seem that bugged by it.

The two sat on the couch for a moment enjoying the movie. It wasn’t the best one his mama had found. But it was still enjoyable in a cheesy way. A lady with a sharp sword out to avenge her father. The usual stuff. And speaking of cheesy, after some movement in the kitchen, the smell of browning cheese joined the other delectable scents slowly filling the house. Just as Mason was realizing how hungry he was Rayen’s stomach growled.

The two shared a laugh at that. And thankfully they didn’t have to wait too long.

“Soups on you two,” Tegan called as she glided through the living room and towards the stairs.

“You’ve been baking soup in the oven?” Rayen called after her wife playfully.

“Would you know if I’m not supposed to?” The love of her life asked back over her shoulder with a puckish smile.

They both knew the answer to that. The Latina woman knew a few old (purportedly family) recipes. She could make tamales for instance. In theory, anyway, she was way too busy to ever actually find the time to do so. Beyond that, she could just about handle hot dogs and sandwiches.

The short woman climbed to her, straightening her skirt and muttering under her breath. Mason couldn’t make out exactly what she was saying, but he caught a few words. Like “cocina,” “quemada,” and “desastre.” So he felt like he got the gist.

Mother and son made their way to the kitchen. They took their usual seats right as Tegan returned. The graceful housewife made her way towards the large casserole on top of the stove. As she started plating out portions the prodigal daughter returned.

“Mmmm smells good, Mom,” Viv said, lifting her arms and stretching out her back. Mason looked away. It was the right thing to do given the sporty woman was once again in a tank top and shorts. (Though thankfully more substantial ones than last night.) “Lasagna?”

“Veggie lasagna,” Tegan specified. She passed out the four plates letting everyone get an eyeful of the delicious meal that had been taunting them for the last hour or so.

“Nice,” The athletic girl said, licking her lips and flicking her little brother’s ear. That earned a reproachful look from Mamita. Well, either that or her outfit. But the curvy woman stayed quiet, knowing full well her partner wouldn’t stand for any fighting at the table.

“Well I hope you all like it,” Tegan said, casting an affectionate smile around the room. “I may have made too much.”

But as they all dug in Mason disagreed. Much like all of his mom’s cooking he doubted there could be such a thing as too much. It was positively scrumptious. The teen was tempted to stuff his face. And as per usual his sister didn’t even bother trying to resist said temptation.

“So does anyone have any news?” Tegan asked after winding an errant dollop of sauce off her chin. She cast her sapphire eyes around the table, eager as always to hear from her family.

“Not really,” Viv said after swallowing down a massive mouthful of delicious pasta.

“Me neither,” Mason added.

“Hopefully by Monday or Tuesday,” Rayen muttered wearily.

“Well good! Because we have an announcement!” The blonde said chipperly. She glanced over at her wife. But the short, Latina woman gave her a surprised, almost confused, look.

“I’m getting a mulligan on the whole ‘little brother’ thing?” Their lithe daughter asked sarcastically. She fixed her (current) little brother with a mocking grin.

“Ha. Ha. Ha.” Mason didn’t even put that much effort into his fake laugh. He just rolled his eyes and sipped his water.

“I thought we were saving that for tomorrow?” Rayen said quietly. She frowned at her wife. If Mason didn’t know better he would say she was genuinely saddened by her wife’s unilateral decision.

“A little anticipation won’t kill him,” Tegan stage whispered back. “I’ll let you tell him.”

“What’s going on?” The gigantic, young man asked nervously. There was only one “he” at the table. And he knew it wasn’t always good to get singled out.

“Well alright,” The short, black-haired woman said. But even as she said that a self-satisfied smile spread across her olive face. He could practically see the canary feathers sticking out between her teeth. She looked straight into the blue eyes of her massive son as she spoke.

“See for the last few weeks your mother has been thinking about getting a new car. And she finally found one she likes,” Rayen explained happily. It was actually kind of a bummer. Tegan’s silver van had been with the family for a while. It may not have been stylish but it had been comfortable. And it had taken the four on more than one family vacation. At least saying goodbye to the car didn’t mean saying goodbye to the memories.

“And it’s ready for pick up tomorrow,” The lawyer kept talking. “We were thinking of doing a trade-in. But we’ve actually got some spare money at the moment. And we could actually use one more car.”

Mason tilted his head. That didn’t make sense. Why would they need an extra car? Both of his moms each had their own. Even Viv had one. Who would-?

Then the light bulb turned on. It must have shown his face because Rayen and Tegan both smile triumphantly at him.

“Really?” Mason said.

“Really,” Mamita said.

“You’re getting the van? You’re so high school cool, baby brother,” Viv said condescendingly. But he didn’t care. Even she couldn’t ruin this for him.

“Oh my god! Thank you so much!” The gigantic teen was on his feet before he even realized it. He circled the table hugging one mom then the other. He was probably a little rougher than he needed to be. But he couldn’t contain himself.

“Well, it was time. Past time really,” Rayen said as she returned the hug.

“And you know we’ll do whatever can to support you two,” Tegan added giving her son a quick peck on the cheek. “It’ll be waiting for you when you get home tomorrow.”

“Just remember I’m picking you up after school tomorrow, llorón,” His sister reminded him before he got too excited.

“You are?” Their copper-skinned mother asked. She was understandably skeptical.

“I need a guinea pig at work and he volunteered,” Viv explained with a casual shrug.

“I definitely didn’t volunteer,” The tall teen pointed out flatly.

“You agreed. Same thing really.” His athletic sister shoved another fork full of lasagna in her mouth. Apparently, she considered the matter closed.

The little quartet ate the rest of their dinner happily. Tasty and filling as it was they actually didn’t take long to finish, even with Viv grabbing a second helping. All done, they stood up and Tegan began gathering up the dishes. But her massive son stopped her.

“I can handle the dishes tonight,” Mason said, grabbing the plates from her.

“Oh but sweetie, the dishwasher’s almost full,” The tall blonde protested.

“You’re giving me a car,” He pointed out bluntly. “I think I can handle the dishes for one night.”

“Don’t fight it,” Rayen said. She hooked an arm through her tall wife’s and dragged her out of the kitchen. The Latin woman seemed both proud of her son and very glad for the chance to spend some time with her wife. As instructed Tegan didn’t fight it, but she did drag her heels enough to get out one last sentence.

“Thank you, sweetie,” She said as she was pulled around the corner and out of sight.

“Yeah thanks, sweetie,” Viv teased him. It seemed to have slipped her mind that their mom called her the exact same thing. “But honestly congrats on the car.”

“Really?” Mason said. That genuinely surprised him. “Um, thanks.”

“Yeah, it’s almost like you’re a grown-up or something,” His sporty sister said. She casually slugged him in the arm and shot him the type of smile only a big sibling could give a little one. Then though it turned positively devilish. “Plus between a big backseat and a little girlfriend, it will be really easy to have fun.”

Viv waggled her eyebrows at him. Mason blushed and looked at where their mothers had just been. But that only made the fit girl cackle loudly as she walked away.

The tall teen shook his blond head and pushed his glasses back up his nose. However annoying his sis was, he had work to do. True to Tegan’s warning the dishwasher was basically full. Mason could fit the fit cutlery in it, as well as one of the glasses. But the rest he would need to wash by hand. Plates, cups, one pot, and a handful of cooking utensils.

It took time, but he didn’t mind. He was in a good mood. Heck, he even went the extra mile and found room for leftover lasagna in the fridge. Whatever craziness tomorrow would bring he felt ready for it.

“Crap!” Mason shouted. How could he forget? Maybe the app was frying his brains. Or maybe he had been literally cumming his brains out without realizing it. The sun had already set and dinner had already been eaten. And yet he hadn’t even started on his homework.

And unlike the last few days, he actually had a decent amount of work to do. Mason turned on the washer and rushed out of the kitchen. He didn’t have time to lose. Though he did spare a glance at his moms as he rushed up the stairs.

The two were cuddled together on the sofa. They were barely watching the movie on the screen. Rayen leaned against her tall wife tightly holding her hand and running a thumb across her knuckles. Tegan used her free hand to stroke her lover’s smooth, black locks idly. Neither seemed to be putting any thought into either action.

Heartwarming as the sight was, Mason couldn’t even slow down to enjoy it. Not if wanted to get any sleep tonight.

Does he finish in time?
