“I’d love to help but I’m not sure if I like going behind Emma’s back like this, the first thing was fine but adding this is a little…” she replied, hesitant to accept.

“I know it's a bit strange but you're the only one I can go to about this stuff. You know you’ve been trying to get my Mom to join your gym for ages and my father is… well you know” you replied getting a knowing nod from Grace. “Please, it would really help me out if you could do this. I can pay you for your time if that's the issue…”

“No, that's not… I’d never expect you to pay for that... “ Grace responded, fumbling over her words before letting out a sigh “ Fine you got me, but I'm not gonna go easy on you” she teasingly warned.

“Really! I knew I could rely on you” you said, grasping her hand and sandwiching it between yours. “I promise you won't regret this”

“Your starting to make me think I will but… Anyway, when do you wanna get started? It's gonna be rough finding a time where Emma won't be in the house.” Grace asked, unbothered by the fact you were still holding her hand. You paused for a second to ponder your schedule which seemed to be getting more hectic as you added more subjects.

“With school and the fact that me and Emma walk home together there aren't many options. Well I think the best time would be early morning if that's okay? Emma always seems to complain about you waking her up so I assume she gets up late?” you suggested.

“Does she now? If only you told me that before I couldn't tell her” she replied with a smirk. “Mornings are good for me as well. I’m usually up at around 6 on the weekdays for my own workout so anytime after that is fine”

6 was gonna be pretty early for you but you were willing to lose a little sleep if it meant you had a shot at making Grace yours. It was getting to a point where you could end up writing a schedule for keeping all the subjects levelling up at the same rate but you felt that that took some of the fun and mystery out of all this. You already had Rebecca on a sort of schedule but that was just due to the fact that you couldn't really see her outside of school. A fact that you would have to deal with eventually if you wanted to get her to the higher levels.

“Around 6 works for me. I can't do tomorrow as my Mom will be up super early getting ready for church so Monday would be good and on the topic of Mom… could you not tell her about this either? It's less important than keeping it a secret from Emma but I don't really want to explain the body confidence stuff to her.” you explained.

“That's fine, the less people who know the better in my opinion. All these secrets make it feel like I'm doing something naughty” she joked.

“I wish” you subconsciously mumbled. Grace seemed to pick up on her double entendre and raised her eyebrows at your comment but you quickly let go of her hand and got up to avoid any embarrassment. “Emma will probably be wondering where I am so I better go. Cheers for listening to me” you said thanking her before rushing back into the house.

You hoped you hadn’t ruined everything with that last comment but it was too late to worry about it now. You fast-walked through the house and dipped your head round the kitchen doorway, making sure Emma spotted you before motioning for her to follow you back upstairs. The two of you made it back to her room before she closed the door behind her and started pelting you with questions.

“What did you talk about? I could only see you two talking and couldn't actually hear what you said. Did she agree to anything? What are you gonna do next?” Emma rattled on not giving you enough time to even answer her questions before she started the next one.

Normally you would just let her tire herself out when she got this excited but now that she was your girlfriend you could change that. In one quick motion, you got right up close to her and pressed your lips against her to silence her and left her pinned against her door as you made out. You had imagined doing that for years and it worked like a charm as when you finally separated, Emma just stared at you silently with a glazed look. From that look, it might have worked too well but it gave you time to get a word in like you wanted.

“First off it's probably better to look at the KDK first before plans are made for anything else and secondly, I’m not gonna tell you everything that we spoke about. Just enough to keep you happy but not enough that any ‘dreams’ you have will be a surprise” you replied. Hoping to set the same precedent with Grace as you did the other subjects. Telling her the juicy details to get her worked up had been going great so far but the conversation you had just had was anything but sexy. You felt that phrasing it this way would help keep some of the mystery alive for her even if it meant telling a white lie or two. Plus it made you feel a little cooler in your eyes and even though the ‘self-confidence’ stuff you mentioned to Grace was an excuse to talk to her, it was something that had been on your mind previously.

Emma looked torn about asking for more details but her desire to check the KDK seemed to win in the end as you both sat back down at the coffee table. As you got your phone out of your pocket, Emma wrapped herself around your arm once again knowing it would only speed up her progress to level 3

Similar to the button that brought up your consumable effects, a new one had appeared that had an icon of an exclamation mark and was also highlighted next to your name. The ‘perks’ text gave you hope and with seemingly nothing left to lose you clicked the icon and were greeted with a new screen.

There were only two available so far and there was another tab that showed a long list of unavailable perks with either a level higher than your own or a higher point cost but all of them were listed as ‘???’ with no further information.

Eye of the Beholder -
Allows the user to view through a selected Subject's eyes for 10 minutes or less after activating. User cannot influence the Subject’s actions directly during this time and can cancel the effect whenever they wish.

Subject Specifics -
Allows the User to have greater control over the Subjects they currently control. The main features of this perk allow the deletion of Subjects, regression of subjects(set their level lower than current) and toggleable upgrades.

You looked to Emma and saw that she was no longer daydreaming and had started paying attention to the new information on screen. The deletion of subjects caught your eye but before selecting anything you went back and checked the information screen to see what was new.

User level 5 and beyond - Perks
Congratulations! You have reached level 5. With all the main features now unlocked you will now be awarded a perk point every level up. Perk points act in the same way your regular points work in the shop but due to their increased value, they can provide much greater benefits compared to what is in the store.

Multiple options are added to the perk select screen every time you level up and If an option is taken, that doesn’t mean the other options disappear. The remaining perks will stay available to take at a later date.

These perks are likely to provide large benefits so it's advised you consider the options available before choosing. There is also a chance of obtaining perk points in ways other than level-ups so keep an eye out.
