Wineglass

"I don't know if I'm ready again just yet," you say quickly.

Your mother looks at you with that Don't Interrupt Your Mother look. "As I was about to say...how about a demonstration on this wineglass?"

She points the calculator at a wineglass on the table and pushes a button. She brings the calculator up and gives you another look: Aren't You Surprised? But then it suddenly changes.

"...and you!"

You start to try to say something, but freeze in place, your sister's laughter ringing in your ears. In fact every sound has a slight ring to it now.

"That's amazing!" Zoe says, sidling up to you, bringing her face close to your cheek. "I can see right through him!"

"Is he solid or hollow?" you hear your mother ask. You feel a finger inserted into your open mouth. It pokes around for moment and you soon feel its tip in you nose.

"Hollow. I'll have to be careful not to knock him over."

The finger exits your mouth and Zoe squats down, moving out of your field of vision.

"Wow. His stiffy is even stiffier."

"What on earth are you doing, dear?" your mother asks.

"Gwss bww jb," mumbles a voice from below.

"You do know that that's your brother, don't you? And that it's impolite to talk with your mouth full?"

"Swwy mm. Cdnt wsist."

Holy crap.
