Chapter 6
by
Serefin
Which growth option do you take?
Will o' Wisp
You select 'Will o' Wisp' with a giddy grin. Sure, being intangible was fun and all, but the fact that your combat abilities were directly tied to what you were possessing was a major downfall, especially since most objects' defense and health were directly tied to their size, meaning anything you could move with any speed was bound to be fragile as hell.
The option you had selected glowed briefly before vanishing. Once it was gone, you felt a change through your body, mainly in the sense that HOLY CRAP YOU HAD A BODY! You look down at yourself. You still look (generally) the same as before, the major difference just being you were tangible. You felt the slight breeze going through the mansion on your naked form (you didn't seem to have any genitalia, however, which was rather disappointing considering you remember sex to be quite pleasurable) and could smell the musty dust of the room. You could also feel your feet hanging in the air, since you still seemed to have retained the ability to fly.
Wondering just exactly how drastically this choice had changed you, you pull open your stat screen.

Levitation- Able to float and fly freely. Unaffected by floor effects while in the air. Greater chance to to dodge attacks while flying. Can only fly where there is enough room.

You smirked. Now was your time for ****. No longer were you bound to mere books and chairs. Now you could finally raise the hell you were meant to!
You turned to the beastmaster, fully intent on ending her life like that of the mage. You were positively giddy to see something you had not expected: she was low on health! Obviously, even though she hadn't been hit directly by the chandelier, it must've caused some sort of area of effect, knocking her down low enough that you could reasonably finish her.
You raise your hand up, and a mere though causes your arcane sphere to appear. You could probably just spam the smaller spheres and finish her that way, but you didn't want to run the risk of her getting a lucky dodge and shooting an arrow into your brand new neck.
Your sphere slowly grows from the size of a baseball to that of a basketball, then a beach ball, as the beastmaster slowly makes her way to the exit. Just as her hand touches the door knob, you strike. You release the orb of arcane energy and it flies towards her as you scream out, "Die!" Oh, how lovely it was to finally have vocal chords again...
The beastmaster only has enough time to turn around before the sphere impacts against her. You the dingling of gained EXP followed by the chime of another level before her body falls to the floor and vanishes. Eagerly, you open your stats again.

Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
