Chapter 3 by Rantam Rantam

How does she start her embarrassing journey?

While wearing a certain outfit (Spoilers)

The Flame Emperor. A name that many in Garreg Mach have learned to fear in the short time that it has been made known. Many wanted to know who it could be, with possible theories ranging from the **** Knight's alter ego, to utterly ridiculous rumors such as it being Professor Byleth's long-lost twin, attempting to get **** on Jeralt for abandoning them. None, aside from a very small amount of cohorts knew that the Flame Emperor was right under their noses the entire time, as naught but a mere student. That's right, Edelgard, future Emperor of the Adrestian Empire, was actually the one they sought.

... Hubert had been worried that the alias she had come up with was slightly too obvious, but thankfully nobody had managed to see through her just yet. Just as well, otherwise everything would be lost, especially if anyone saw her speaking to the unscrupulous individuals she was currently facing.

"... Be sure to attack tomorrow at dawn. You should be facing nothing more than a few students, they should be reasonably easy to dispatch. If possible, try not to kill them."

With that, the Flame Emperor vanished, some sort of teleportation spell completely removing their presence from the dingy hut, leaving nothing but confused and awe-struck bandits behind.

"Nailed it!" Edelgard thought, the familiar sensation of a teleport spell washing over her. Not only had she managed to wow her general audience (While also leading them into an obvious trap that would show her professor the injustices committed under Rhea's watch), she'd actually managed to pull off a successful self-warp, something Hubert had told her would be near-impossible for her. True, she wasn't the best at using Faith magic, but even she could do something if she put her mind to it. As soon as her moody retainer got back from being lent out to the Blue Lions, she would rub it in his face that he wasn't needed to transport her every single time she needed to stealthily move.

Now, she should be transported to somewhere outside the village surrounding Garreg Mach, at which point she could contact one of her spies to hide her armor, returning to the monastery without a single person being none the wiser. But as her vision began blurring into view, Edelgard noticed a slight problem.

"... This looks a lot like a classroom..."

Indeed, as she peered around through the thick metal helm, she could see that her warp hadn't exactly taken her to the quiet countryside like she'd hoped, but instead she was transported to the Black Eagles classroom... In fact, she was quite sure she could hear the murmurs of multiple students from outside the closed doors, ready to be let in any minute now.

This was by far the worst place she could have been taken, bar maybe the cathedral during a sermon. She knew that Hubert told her that low compatibility with her warp spell would mean that she could be miles out from her intended destination, but she had assumed that at worst she'd have to catch a carriage back to the monastery, not that she'd end up somewhere she'd likely be killed!

Alright... it's alright, she just needed to be calm. She was allowed to be here, it was the Flame Emperor who was banned. She just needed to get rid of it in a nice, calm manner.

Huge clattering sounds could be heard reverberating throughout the classroom as Edelgard ripped her armor off, about as calm as Bernadetta being told she needed to give an inspirational speech to her battalion. That is to say, she was absolutely freaking out, stripping so fast that she didn't have time to think. Eying a nearby storage cupboard, she quickly piled up what she could inside, covering it with a sheet and hoping that nobody would need any spare quills or parchment today.

Edelgard pressed her back up against it to calm herself, the rough wood of the cabinet pressing against her bare, sweaty skin.

"... Wait, bare skin?"

Gazing down, Edelgard realized that she may have gone slightly overboard in her attempts to remove all the evidence... it seems that in her state of panic she had ripped off the tunic and breeches she had worn underneath her armor, leaving her with nothing to cover herself whatsoever.

Well, this should be fine. As long as nobody opened the classroom door right now, she could-

The classroom door opened, a long-drawn out _SQUEEEEK _coming from the rusted hinges that spelled Edelgard's doom. Behind it stood the object of Edelgard's affections, Professor Byleth, as well as the members of her house that she was meant to lead with pride. Each seemed to wear their own expression, from Petra's confusion, Bernadetta's full-faced blush of embarrassment, or worst of all, the Professor's completely blank stare.

What would be best to do? Run out of the classroom screaming like a lunatic? Try to play it cool and make up an excuse? Try to warp again and hope that it's to a better location?

What should Edelgard do?
