Welcome to Firelink Shrine

After a long and turbulent flight you find yourself dropped abruptly in front of another bonfire. Without a moment of hesitation to dive to the protection of the warm flames before that bird comes back for another cross country flight. Luckily it seems to just be perched up near the top of the ruins near what looks to be a giant nest. once you're confident that the bird is just hanging out you scan the area and see an man chuckling to himself at you dismay. you approach the man now seeing he's clad in chain-mail while you still only have your loin cloth, planks and club to your name.

"Hello? Who are you chuckle pants?" You stand looming over the man. He stops his chuckling at your remark and shoots you a glare for a second. He brings his hands down to speak, a clear dis-stain in his voice that's a little higher in pitch than you were expecting.

"Well, what do we have here? You must be a new arrival. Let me guess. Fate of the Undead, right? Well, you're not the first. But there's no salvation here. You'd have done better to rot in the Undead Asylum… But, too late now. Well, since you're here… Let me help you out. There are actually two Bells of Awakening. One's up above, in the Undead Church. The other is far, far below, in the ruins at the base of Blighttown. Ring them both, and something happens… Brilliant, right? Not much to go on, but I have a feeling that won't stop you. So, off you go. It is why you came, isn't it? To this accursed land of the Undead?" he begins to laugh very eerily.

you respond after taking a moment to process this new bit of info. "Great two bells, and one's in a nasty sounding place nice. So what are you doing here shouldn't you be off trying to ring said bells?" He scoffs. "Screw that, I already died more times than I would have ever liked and I done with all this prophecy crap, I'm just going to sit here till the world ends or i feel like moving so leave me alone will ya I've given you some advise in hopes that would send you on your way."

You shrug your shoulders and turn to walk away giving him your thanks and let him sit on his little apocalypse chair. Looking around some more you can see some items thrown about the ruins and by the well and go hunting for more in the surrounding area and take inventory of what you found. "Alrighty let's see what we got." you've found some firebombs, a smattering of souls that you keep on you and a cooper coin from the nice cleric in the room full of pots you smashed. once you are satisfied you spot a stair case leading down to a lower level and head that way to see what around.

You enter into a clearing and spot a hole in the wall that barred with iron and inside you see what looks to be a feminine figure draped in a rag-like cloak. Her legs are mangled and seem to have been left that way for a long time. "Hey, are you alright in there?" No response. you try to muscle your way through the bars but it doesn't work they are surprisingly sturdy. "Are you hurt, do you need help?" Still silence. Well you can't get through the bars on your own you need something like a pole to leverage it open. concerned but unable to do anything now you head back up to the fire, taking note that there are more stairs leading further down from that strange girl.
