Warn the others what could happen if this got out

You feel bad for Lynn. You can see on her face that she is uncomfortable with this sort of attention and want to help her. The question is; how do you do that? It’s not like you’re an imposing figure that can threaten everyone to put away their phones. Then it occurs to you that there IS someone who fits that description!

You rush up to the closest guy with his phone out and say to him with serious concern, “Do you realize what you’re doing?!”

“I’m getting this on record!” the guys says, not taking his eyes off the naked cheerleader.

“If Griff finds out that you took naked photos of his ex girlfriend, you know what he would do?” you warn him.

Suddenly the realization lights up in the guy’s head. “Oh shit…” he mutters, dropping his phone. Quickly, you and the guy spread the word and the murmur in the crowd is unanimous. No one wants to mess with Griff. The girls continue to do their routine, but the crowd’s reaction has died down. You look over to Lynn and she doesn’t appear as agitated as she was earlier. She does seem a bit confused about the crowd’s silence. You glance around your surroundings as well and see the audience all paying attention to the cheerleaders as if they were watching a recital. They are sitting up and watching, but are not responding to the girl’s cheers.

The practice goes on without incident and the girls file out to the change room.

“Well… that was less sexy than I thought it would be…” Scott remarks. The crowd splits up, everyone doing their own thing as if nothing big had happened. Scott turns to you, “So now what? Shall I go interview the girls about your girlfriend?”

You roll your eyes at Scott, “Can you at least wait for Lynn to not be around?” you ask him.

“Yeah, sure, you lead her away and I’ll talk to the others,” Scott replies with the thumbs up.

You head to the change room and stand outside to wait for Lynn. After a while, the girls start coming out, they look at you curiously but head off without asking questions. Finally, Lynn comes out and spots you.

“Hey! You waited!” she says.

“Yeah, I thought you’d want to do something later…” you reply.

“Yeah, but I could have summoned you,” she shrugs, “Anyways, since you’re here, we can hang.” She starts walking off and you follow her like a lap dog. As long as she’s distracted by you, she won’t have any reason to suspect that you’re up to something. After the two of you head out of the school, she says, “That was weird, huh?”

“The practice? Yeah, I can’t believe you actually went out there like that!” you nod.

“Yeah, but no. I mean, the crowd seemed dead. I would have thought they would have made a bigger reaction to it.”

“Well they did at the beginning, but then I told them how Griff would kill anyone who posted a naked picture of you online,” you tell her.

“Oh! You did that for me?” Lynn says with a smile.

“Well, you didn’t look comfortable out there…”

“Aww, you really do care!” she says, bumping into you with her shoulder. “Kind of clever, threatening them with Griff. I think I’m rubbing off on you a little, hmm?” She continues to rub her shoulder into your side with a mischievous grin.

“Maybe....” you chuckle lightly.

“Oh, but then what are you going to do about Griff?” she asks.

“What do you mean?”

“Well, you didn’t stop everyone from spreading the pictures and then Griff caught wind of it and demanded to know who started this and… well, I told him you did.”

“WHAT?!”

“Well, technically it’s true. You made me lose my bet,” says in a deadpan tone.

Your face goes pale as you look around for the foreboding giant.

“You’re going to stop him, right?” you say with desperation in your voice. “Like wish him away or something?”

“Well, I could, but…”
