Wandering the night market

Alice's brother found their next window to adventure after dinner time: a night market somewhere in the old town. After a short trip by taxi, the family was immediately surrounded by hundreds of people in a busy street market. All around them were various goods and wares of all kinds, ranging from cheap clothing to pretty jewelry. Being an avid shopper, Alice's mother took the initiative to disappear as soon as they decided to split up. Her father and brother went off down another street, leaving Alice and Lucas to go down another. She was having a great time browsing and haggling along for anything she fancied, reveling in the cheap prices that every stall had to offer. She was going from one side of the street to the other, blissfully unaware of her surroundings as she took in the shopping nirvana all around her.

After half an hour, she had not even noticed that her boyfriend was missing from her side. She was at a stall that sold an interesting array of Chinese curiosities, mesmerized by the craftsmanship, even if they were clearly knock offs.
