Waiting for the Inevitable

You know that the others are waking up now. That also means that it's only a matter of time before you're dragged down to that obsidian room to be given your daily dose of dread. That and figuring out what item the app chose makes you worry.

You stand up, walking to the door, walking to the living room. You look at the door that used to leave your apartment, half-expecting some eldritch being to walk up the stairs and through the door. Sephora and Rebecca join you, sitting on the couch next to you. It is silent for a moment, before you can't stand it any more. "So how was your night? Any odd things?"

Rebecca answers first. "No, not really. I had some odd dreams, but it's not like my mind could just ignore what's happening. So some dreams related to this make sense. Other than that, it felt like I fell asleep instantly."

Sephora answers, and you try to act believably. "Olivia ran into my room last night before the clock sounded. She wasn't there when I woke up though. I knocked before I came here on Olivia's door, but neither seemed to answer and the door was locked. I just hope she's ok."

You know why they probably haven't come out, one bears a collar and the other, well the other has so many things they must be trying to process, you wonder how you haven't heard her break something in anger.

You look at the door. "So do we go down there? Or maybe, if none of us go, then it'll never trigger whatever that ritual was yesterday." Rebecca and Sephora look a bit worried. Sephora puts out a small sigh. "I mean, will it punish all of us?" You answer somewhat confidently, though you don't know the answer either. "Well if it demanded we be there of our own accord, it'd be a rule. It's not like it's shied away from rules, right?" You sigh, hoping you're right. So you all sit there, holding each other's hands. Until you feel a feeling of weightlessness.
