Wait for Commander McCann

"I'll just wait then," Maria responded.

The corpsman waved Maria toward the outer office of the Chief Medical Officer, surreptiously watching the swing of Maria's hips as she walked away. Too bad her rank makes her off limits, the corpsman thought to himself, before turning his attention back to his 'paperwork.'

Maria didn't have long to wait before the Chief Medical Officer showed up. Commander Kathryn McCann was a very beautiful black woman in her mid-thirties, though she could have easily passed for mid to late-twenties. She was a few inches taller than Maria, and not quite as curvaceous (Maria guessed that Kathryn was one cup size smaller than her C-cup), but still very feminine. Kathryn, like Maria, wore her hair down and shoulder length.

"Dr. Fuentes, I presume?"

Maria immediately stood up. "Reporting for duty, Commander McCann."

Kathryn gave Maria an easy smile. "Just Kathryn, Maria. We're very informal in my sickbay with each other. As long as you pull your weight, we'll get along fine." Kathryn held up a small electronic device. "Very impressive residency, Maria. And we could use someone in your area of specialization."
