Chapter 3 by Wraithne Wraithne

What is on today's agenda?

Visit from big brother.

It was a pretty relaxing day, actually. All you really had to do was tend to your Jarl duties and using your computer for that made things easier by a mile. The construction of the hospital was done (that had been your first priority building-wise) and the farming section was still being cleared up with respect to nature (to ensure the spirits and Gods of nature didn't get angry) which wasn't an easy task. The housing district wasn't finished, but, luckily, most of the families were housed. The people weren't happy that you, as Jarl, still lived in a tent, but your people came first and they respected you for that. Last, you checked the treasury. It was pretty stable. The economy for the community was still strong, but you kept an eye on all of it. So far, everything seemed good for the people.

It was then that you hear one of your men talking to someone outside.

"Stop! The Jarl is busy! You can not enter!" It was one of your Shield-men, Thomas, dealing with someone outside. You sniffed the air, using your divine sense of smell and hearing to pick up who or what it could be. The smell of burning amber hit you first, then a small sound of electricity, followed by the smell of goat. You already knew who it was before they spoke.

"Boy, don't test me. I have fought stronger men and women than you! Now move asid! I go where I please!"

Krampus was intimidating Thomas, but your Shield-man was holding his ground. Sadly, you could smell the fear coming from him which meant your annoying brother could as well.

"Thomas, let my brother in. I'll deal with him."

You heard the fabric of your tent move as your brother entered. You turned around and saw Krampus standing before you. He was in a more human looking form today as fate hadn't **** him to take his true form just yet. In his human form, he stood around 6'8, broad shouldered and with brownish red hair and blood red eyes. His skin was pale like fresh snow, but it only made him scarier, in truth. Had you been any other half-blood, he would be a fearsome god but, as a son of Hel and his younger brother, it was more of an annoying god.

"So, Jarl, how is it going?" The mocking tone in your brother's voice showed he was only here to pick on you.

"What do you want, brother? And where is Nicolas?" While Nicolas, or Santa as the mortals called him, was the "good" twin in the sense he didn't harm children, Krampus was seen as evil because he punished misbehaving kids. But the truth was he actually loved children. You knew about the story of him eating kids, but you also knew it was a lie created by the Christian bastards to insult your brother. In truth, if Krampus did kill kids (this normally being children who would become serial killers), it was by using the cold. He would have the child fall asleep then freeze their heart, giving them a painless ****.

Krampus sat down in a chair across from you. "He's preparing for Yule. I'm just waiting on the list to go do my job. So I decided to come bug you." He smiled, showing a toothy grin. "So what are you working on, Hans?" Krampus looked over at the computer.

"I'm looking over the progress of the community." You turned back to the computer and pulled up everything since your brother was here and a full God he might catch things you missed. You watched as Krampus looked over everything. For a moment, you could've sworn you saw pride on his face but it quickly was followed by mischief.

"AWWW, look at you, all grown up and a good little Jarl!" He grabbed your head and started hugging you and swinging you around like you were a toddler. "LOOK WHO'S A BIG BOY! YOU ARE! YES, YOU ARE!"

You grabbed for Rigor Mortis, the scythe mother gave you, but Krampus kept you close. "I just love how grown up you are!" It was starting to make you angry, his treatment of you. You couldn't control your anger any longer!

"ENOUGH!", you roared and you felt it before it happened as skeleton arms shot out from the ground. Krampus let you go, laughing the whole time.

"Temper, temper, little brother!" He laughed as the skeletons descended into the ground. Thomas rushed in to see what was happening.

"Sir, are you alright?" Thomas had his gun trained on Krampus standing between the two of you. The mortal stood no chance against your brother.

"I am fine, Thomas. Go back to your post." Thomas hesitated but left the tent.

"I guess I should get to business, shouldn't I?", your brother laughed.

What business does Krampus have for you?
