Two Jobs

You turned to Krampus, knowing that, in reality, there was **** in doing the job. Gods don't take no for an answer and you knew that, for the sake of your people, doing what a god says was the safest choice. Swallowing your pride, you decided to see what job he had in mind for you. This was for your people and they are all that matters.

"Alright, brother, what is the job?"

Krampus smiled, you caught how his teeth were sharp. The whole devil look was starting to show. You couldn't help but smile at his antics. Sure, he picks on you, but, in truth, you did love your Krampus.

"Okay, Hans! I got two jobs for you! Realistically, I know that you only have time for one and a different demigod will handle the other job."

This caught your attention. You had yet to deal with another demigod from your pantheon or a different one.

"Get to the point.", you said, even as excitement rushed through you. The possibility of fighting an equal just had your blood pumping.

"Such a party pooper. Alright, fine. The first and most important one. Some mortals have uncovered an old tomb, stolen from it and are trying to get into the Jarl's chamber. Normally, this would be fine, besides the blatant disrespect for the dead-" You could understand that since Hel was a Goddess of **** so disrespecting the dead was the same as disrespecting mother -"But the Jarl in that tomb was a demigod himself and has a few relics buried with him. Here's the kicker: some Jotnar are behind it, trying to obtain the whole thing. Before you ask, no, I am unaware if they are fire, ice or some other version of Jotnar."

You were slightly worried. Jotnar was plural for Giants. Without knowing if they are ice, fire, or troll wives, all of which took planning to deal with, you might have some trouble. "The tomb is located in Maine of the United States. The Jotnar are using political power to handle the disgrace."

"And the second job?"

You saw Krampus looked worried but he started explaining.

"There are some Hidden Folks that are in need of rescue. They are Skogsra. A fire Jotun has burned down their forest because one refused to lay with him. Also, a Son of Baldur tried to stop him and was defeated. He's still alive, but, if you save him, that means he's bound by our laws to serve you. Also, if the Skogsra don't find a new forest to live in and guard, they will die. Since its in Canada, out in the wilds of Boreal forest, but close enough to civilization, the Skogsra can't easily get to a forest. Its only a two hour flight from here." This meant your Island was the safest place for the Skogsra since no Jotnar would risk coming here.

Krampus sat down and you could see the tears in your brothers eyes. This was one of the down sides to being a full god; they couldn't always intervene even if they wanted to. This also meant both jobs needed to be done and were of equal importance. Another Demigod could aid you greatly, plus the Skogsra also were important allies to have. They would protect the forest and wild life, helping the community understand the value of nature. It was also possible they could craft a relic that you could use. The choice had to be made and both had equal positive and negative outcomes.
