Chapter 12 by NocturnalShenanigans NocturnalShenanigans

How different are things?

Very sci-fi

Liara T'soni blinked open her eyes, staring somewhat incredulously at the orange holographic interface of her omnitool over her pale blue skin. Thankfully, she could remember her hundred or so years as Liara T'soni about as well as she could her twenty-three as Laura Jones, and even more thankfully, there were no major conflicts of personality. Sure, Liara was way more into archaeology than Laura had ever been (Though on reflection, the part of her that was still Laura thought, archaeology is pretty cool.), and Laura had been much more outgoing and socially adept than Liara was, but that was mostly a learned behavior that could easily be carried over and was also more than made up for by Liara's markedly superior intelligence.

She still had no idea why her apparently simple rule change led to... this.

Something to investigate later, Liara decided. I suddenly find myself with a lot more rules to play with.

May as well get the most obvious one out of the way first, though.

"All sapient species have compatible genitalia and are capable of interbreeding. The offspring of interspecies pairs will be of the mother's species 99% of the time."

Yes, that should produce exactly the desired results and absolutely nothing else.

I really hope I didn't jinx it, Liara thought despondently.

Now, what to change, where to go... who to do?

More fun
