Valeria Richards.

As Susan's younger daughter Valeria came into sight, Peter couldn't help but think that there was something different about her.

Last time he'd seen the young blonde haired and blue eyed seven year old girl, she'd been smart as a whip but fairly reserved: only occasionally letting a small uptick visit one corner of her mouth when she was happy about something. Otherwise she generally kept a stoic facade up as though she couldn't afford to let anyone see what she felt.

Now, as she came into the corridor and saw him, her little face lit up like a normal kid's would when their birthday had come early. It made her look very much like her mother with her white teeth showing in her wide and almost innocent smile. It simultaneously startled and saddened Peter to realize that he had never once known this young child to give such a carefree smile before.

The pattering of her socked feet on the floor picked up as her speed increased and she started running toward him.

Instinctively, he took a knee in front of her. Just as she took a flying leap toward Peter with her arms outstretched, it finally clicked what was different about Valeria now.

Her eyes were brown.

Automatically, those honed hero reflexes opened his arms as the young girl impacted his chest and brought her arms around his neck as though he were Santa Claus himself. She squeezed tight like she never intended to let him go.

"Hey there munchkin." He said automatically, feeling somewhat idiotic as he didn't know what else to say. He'd generally be able to say such a thing to the much more easy-going and happy Franklin, who wouldn't mind Peter talking to him so colloquially. Valeria usually sighed a bit, and then proceeded to not bother answering such childish greetings.

Things kept getting stranger as he heard her giggle in response.

"Hi there daddy." She answered with apparent happiness.

Peter slowly pulled her back as his world stopped turning for a moment. What. The. Hell?!

As he looked in her eyes with his own equally brown orbs, Sue's voice called from down the hall.

"Valeria, where'd you go in such a hurry young lady?"
