VG Day 10 - Epilogue

You head home. It's late, but you find Demi still awake in bed, looking at her demon iPhone.

"Hi, baby," she says, looking a little weird.

"Um, hi," you say. You know you smell like total sex.

"Good party? They're saying it was the best party ever," she says, showing you her demon Facebook feed.

"That's cool," you say, sitting down. You have to bathe before you can go to bed.

"So, uh... couple things," Demi says.

"Uh oh. What?"

"Well, um... Maggie posted a long rant just now about her program getting shut down for doing illegal stuff. She's pretty bummed about it."

"Oh no..." That is your fault.

"She also totally named you in her rant so... yeah..." Demi makes kind of a pained expression at you. "You are so getting expelled."

"Oh shit!"

"Yeah... must've been some party," she says, looking at your messy hair and makeup, and your disheveled dress. "So I guess I'll be going back to work after the baby's born. You'll have to stay home with the kid."

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry," you say.

"It's OK," Demi says. True, she doesn't seem mad. "I'd rather work to be honest, and my mom will be here all the fucking time... this will be her first grandchild, so she'll probably move back in... yeah. I'm ready to go back to work."

Oh man... you still feel bad.

"But hey, there's good news," Demi says brightly, looking at her phone again. "Inez just invited you to her next party. So that's cool, right?"
