What do you see? Is it what you've been "fearing"?

Two figures in the dark...

You spin around to see two figures leaning against the wall, barely illuminated by the single wall-light above them. It flickered as they propped themselves up and began stepping towards you.

“So sorry, Ma’am. Didn’t mean to startle ya…” the one on the right calls out. He was tall, much taller than your current form, but even in the dim light you could tell he had quite the large physique.

“Yeah, our apologies for giving you such a fright...” The other one chimes in, a much skinnier figure who seemed to have a limp to his gait.

They continue slowly walking towards you and while your legs scream at you to book it, to just run, leave, get out of here…! … part of your mind urges you to stay: They seem concerned enough for your well-being… They may even be able to give you the ride you need… it was a long shot, but would you really just turn around and run...?
