In come two of the most heavily armed men you've ever seen in your life, holding between them a girl in a torn, dirtied tunic, otherwise naked.
"Davidicus, Luscius and I were going to head out to the fields for our afternoon survey.
"Brutus and I wanted to be sure that the house-slaves had finished their work before we left, the girls are waiting for you around the estate."
You perk up at the mention of their names, both of which you recognise from the ledger book as your most highly paid and trusted of your personal guard.
"Good work men, you can leave for your afternoon patrol."
