Two Nosy Reporters

Jill Henderson was a young, up-and-coming reporter who worked for a local news firm. She had only been covering boring local stories, but her boss contacted her two days ago about a story that, if she covered it well, could land her a promotion she had wanted for a while.

Apparently, she was supposed to do an interview with a Dr. Mandrake, a supposed hypnotherapist who had been helping women in the area for a few months, but a lot of his clients didn't remember their experiences with him.

Jill decided to take her more skeptical friend Lisa Slyke with her as well, since they were both junior reporters and this story could do wonders to their careers.

Jill and Lisa were checked in by the receptionist, and Dr. Mandrake welcomed them in.

"Dr. Mandrake," Jill said. "Thanks for taking time to have a chat with us."

"No problem," Mandrake said. "I love interviews. I presume your brunette friend there is Miss Slyke?"

"I am," Lisa said. "And just so you know, I think your entire business is a fraud."

"Lisa!" Jill said. "Don't be rude."

"Oh, don't worry," Mandrake said. "I've had plenty of skeptics. I hope I can prove that I'm legit."

Jill set her recording box on the table as her and Lisa sat down.

"Sleep!" Mandrake called. Both reporters fell asleep.

He picked up the recording box. Amateurs didn't even turn it on. This was gonna be fun.
