Try to get home and to your mom.

Danny sprinted from the bathroom and across the parking lot, intending to make it all the way to the woods. She wasn’t sure why but watching Macy delivering by herself, in a bathroom, with no body there if anything went wrong, the pain of her own contractions just as the baby slid to the dirty tile; everything suddenly jelled into one pained conclusion. She had to get her mom, and before the baby came. Even though she had no clear thought as to how she would explain her pregnancy, she knew she wasn’t able to do it without her mom. Macy may have been that strong, but she now was sure she wasn’t. Suddenly, halfway across the parking lot two things happened almost together. First, she felt the unmistakable feeling of her belly tightening with another contraction; second, the soft sound of the school bell drifted from one of the buildings. Grunting, she ducked down behind the nearest car trying to wait the contraction out, but suddenly she saw people exiting the building. Suddenly the horrifying thought hit her that the day was over and that the final bell had rung, and people were coming for their cars.

Panic gripped her as she tried to decided what she needed to do as the contraction took hold.
