Try to find Dr. Zero

I've come this far, might as well see it through to the end. I started exploring the factory trying to find Dr. Zero. Zero must have only had the four guards because the place was deserted. It was so quit, I could hear my boots clicking across the floor. Maybe high heel shoes weren't the right way to go. I was exploring the ground floor when I heard a guard coming. I ducked into the nearest door to avoid detection. I may have taken down one of those guys but the others had guns and probably wouldn't fall for the same trick.

After I heard the guard walk by, I sighed in relief. This was nerve raking. It was then that I realized that the door lead to a stair case. Must have lead to the basement. Well, might as well see what was down there. As I made my way down the steps, I noticed it start to get colder. I started rubbing my arms for warmth again. Once this is over, I was going to have to make another costume for colder climates.

I came to a door at the end of the stairs which was unlocked. I slowly opened the door and peeked inside. What I found was a little shocking. It was a glass tube hooked up to all kinds of machines. Inside I could make out the figure of a shapely woman. I approach cautiously. To the side I found what appeared to be medical equipment monitering the vitals of who ever was inside this thing. Above one of the monitors was a name: Laura Zero.

Laura Zero.....the gears in my head begain turning. Despite his crimes, Dr. Zero was always a rather clean crimenal. He would never kill and he never seemed to steal anything of real monitary value. Medical supplies, generators, gas, you know stuff like that. He must have been working to keep whoever this was alive. And if I had to guess, this must have been some kind of loved one. A wife, a mother, maybe a sister.

My thoughts were interupted by what sounded like a ray gun being fired. This was followed by a sudden brust of cold air, especialy my feet. I looked down to my horror and found that my legs had been incased in ice, I tried to pick my feet up but I couldn't pulled them free. I stopped my struggles when I heard the sound of metallic footsteps walking towards me from behind. I was not only frozen in place, I was forzen in fear.

Dr. Zero walked in front of me. He was wearing what appeared to be some kind of space suit. His right hand had steam coming off of it. Clearly the hand he used to blast the ice at my feet. He spoke, his voice coming out as if he was speaking through a radio. "You are trespassing." I snapped out of my fear. "Look I'm sorry, I swear I wasn't going to do anything. It's not my intention to hurt your wife." He lowered his hand. "How did you know that was my wife Ms......?" "Uh....Nova Girl. And it was just a guess based on some clues here and there." "Nova Girl......I have never heard this name. You must be new." "Yes, and I've proven to be pretty lousy at this. Your caught me earlier but I escaped." He brought his hand up to his helmet. "Good help is so hard to find these days." "I don't know, they were a lot smarter than what I expected." "I hate to be rude Nova Girl but you don't seem to be that intellegent yourself." I crossed my arms and gave him a pout. "I found you didn't I?" He shrugged "I suppose. However, that is precisely why I can't let you go." I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, I didn't think you'd let me go. So all this is for your wife right?"

He turned to his frozen wife. "Yes, she has a rare disese. I have kept her in stasis so that I may find a cure. It takes a great deal of resources to keep the machine running." I looked at him simpethically. "I'm sorry. Look, I don't want you to loose your wife and I haven't told anyone I was here. If you let me go, I promise not to tell anyone where you are." He looked at me....for several minutes actually. He then turned back to his wife.....then back to me again. I didn't like this.....what was he thinking. He finally spoke. "I am sorry my dear but as I said, I can't let you go." He then raised a hand to my face. "As a matter of fact, I have a use for you." He then sprayed something from his hand. It made me wuzy....a few seconds later, I passed out.
