Chapter 18 by simmaster
What will you do?
Try to corrode their weapons.
Although the skeletons are well-equipped and well-armored, their equipment also looks old and rusty. Perhaps it has low durability... Or perhaps it has no durability at all, you're not sure how monster equipment works. Either way, for as long as you're at the risk of being struck by their swords, axes and spears, your situation is a lot more fucked than it otherwise would be. And your Corrode does do 40 durability's worth of damage now... You're not sure if that's a lot, but it sounds like a lot.
You give it a try. You hold out your arms and wave your fingers in slow, mystical motions as a sickening green light starts to glow around your hands. The targeted skeleton's armor and sword starts to wither as tiny metal fragments fall off and the rust spreads fast. However the skeleton is also closer to you than the others, and it swings the sword at you. You try to step away and shield your face with your arms, but you can't move away faster than it can approach. Yet despite that, you feel no impact. You lower your arms to see what went wrong, and find that the skeleton is looking in confusion at the hilt of its sword, observing its apparent lack of a blade. Some of its armor pieces have entirely fallen off as well.
A sense of triumph comes over you, however you remember that there are a total of five more skeletons with weapons still intact, and your Corrode spell has a 30-second cooldown. The other four in front of you approach fast, and the one behind you is advancing as well as a glance backwards tells you.

Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
