Try the Barbarian costume

A long-handed double-bladed axe - or at least a good rendition of one in plastic and padded latex - catches your eye. The costume hung besides it has a pair of wrapped faux-fur boots with a plastic knife tucked into a sheaf on one, stitched leather pants with a wide studded belt, a headband that goes about a wig of long dark hair, a necklace of plastic animal teeth and claws, and a padded musclebound top.

Taking the costume into the nearby changing room, you soon are pulling poses in the mirror. Arnie had nothing on you! you inwardly laugh. The cubicle doesn't give enough room for you to swing the axe properly, so you pull back the curtain -

• and in a sudden flash of smoke, you stumble forward. The ground beneath your feet is uneven and you feel oddly unbalanced and awkward. As the air clears, as unbelievable as it may be, you find that you are no longer in the costume shop.

  Instead, you appear to be in a dense forest, with towering redwood tree's in all directions.

  More than this, you seem to have been physically changed. The padded muscles are gone, replaced instead it seems with real flesh and blood. You draw a breath of the chill air, and flex your arms experimentally. You feel really good.

  The axe you hold also is obviously no longer just some fancy toy, but of real metal, the edges of the double-bladed axe obviously sharp.

  How is this possible? you think, turning the handle of the axe in the strong grip of your now large hands.
