Chapter 5
by Ganti
Who do you seek after?
Try for a private moment with Claudette
In the end, the choice you made was somewhat forgone. Logically, you should have checked on Risty- as the first prisoner the family had in decades, you weren't sure if the dungeon was fit for habitation, let alone if it would hold her and you needed to get her side of the story. It was unlikely anyone else would be objective- Elina obviously hated her for daring to speak to Leina, Claudette was so wrapped up in being fathers perfect soldier she likely to just parrot whatever Father said, and Leina... Leina would either love her or hate her.
Instead, you were selfish. You could admit that to yourself- your teacher had hammered into your head that you shouldn't lie to yourself, it just lead to bad things when a magic-user did that. You were going to try and get a private moment with your favorite sister. Who- again, being honest with yourself- you had rather more then just brotherly feelings for. And probably would have even without Elina deciding... what she did. Claudette was gorgeous, competent, and always, always tried to do the right thing, even with father being so... dismissive of her.
You pause for a moment outside the door to her room, mustering your courage. It had been a while, and while Claudette had said that her room was open to you if you needed to talk, that was before you had left for years of training. A few breaths to steady your nerves, and you push open the door, revealing... well, something you were slightly afraid of.
Her room was spartan, consisting mostly of a desk, a chair, her bed, and a small bookshelf... mostly containing treatises on tactics and the management of an army. None the less, you were pleased to see the chess set you had gotten her before you left was carefully stored away on it. Claudettes' sitting at her desk, busy with... something. Always so serious. Smiling a little, you slip inside and close the door.
She looks up when the door closes, and her green eyes widen. "Ephraim? Is that you? Why are you here?"
"Good to see you too, Claudette. As for why I'm back..." You sigh. "Mistress Black went missing- I'm not sure what happened, all I found was her shredded clothes- or at least her hat." You grin a little at her before continuing. "Unless you mean 'why am I here, specifically, in this room'? In which case it's to visit my favorite sister after having not seen her for far too long."
She looks away briefly, then looks back. "I'm... sorry to hear that. Still, it's good to see you again."
You sit down on her bed and she moves to sit next to you, somewhat surprising you. "What was it like? Learning magic, that is."
You shrug, and begin to recount the highlights of it- the emphasis on self awareness, responsibility, and the need to always know what you want- and what your duties are.
After a while, you lapse into companionable silence, and you find your eyes wandering over Claudettes' body. She's only gotten more beautiful since you last saw her. Her sculpted muscles play under her soft skin, speaking of the long hours she spends training. None the less, her frame hasn't sacrificed any femininity for her power, sporting a very ample bust and wide hips.
"Ephraim?" She calls your name, apparently having noticed your gaze. You bring your eyes up to meet hers, and notice that she's somewhat flushed. After a moments' hesitation, you throw caution to the wind, and lean forwards pressing your lips to hers in a passionate kiss. They are warm and soft, and oh-so-pleasant...
How does she respond?
