What is it?
Tri'lanna returns
Stepping through the underbrush you spot Tri’lanna moving towards your camp site. Swinging from forked branch are three trout hanging by their gills. The fish are so fresh that you can still see the bright rainbow of colors on their sides as Tri’lanna lifts her catch high in the morning sun.
As happy as you are to see such a good breakfast, you realize that you are even happier to see Tri’lanna’s carefree face. You are going to miss her when you get to Elohim, and are not looking forward to travelling alone for the rest of the journey to the Druids. ‘No use limbing a tree before you’ve chopped it down.’ Your father’s oft quoted wisdom came to you this time with less pain and with a quick wave of your hand you turned to meet Tri.
Her words bubbled like a springlet after a springtime rain, and for a moment you thought you could follow what she was saying.
“… away yesterday…… I caught … today …” Smiling at her you told her how happy you were to see her. You had no reason to believe that Tri’lanna could understand you any better today than yesterday, but she nodded in reply almost as if she did and with a quick wave headed back towards the tree line.
As you gutted and skewered the three fish Tri’lanna quickly got a fire going. Soon the two of you were sitting on the hillside facing the sun and eating delicate bits of fish as it fell off the bone. In the best of times, few things taste as good as roasted trout caught within the hour, but after the trials of the past week you feel your spirits soar.
The rest of the day passes like the previous day, as you climb higher into the foothills there are more meadows and fewer patches of woodlands, but the sun climbs with you and the warmth of the rays and the effort of climbing keep you comfortable even in the higher altitude. Several times as you walk Tri’lanna stops to show you a small bit of nature that you would never have noticed on your own. A nest of grouse chicks perfectly camouflaged peeking from under a bush, a shady patch of snow that somehow had yet to melt even this late in the spring, and finally a small yellow flower. The flower seemed no different than a thousand others just like it but as you bent to pick it and present it to your companion her small hand stopped yours and you imagine she said something like:
“Let ... live … short … just ... us.”
The cold never seemed to bother Tri’lanna even though she wore only your gaping woolen tunic that bared her arms, legs and you can’t help but notice anytime she lifted her arms her round breasts to the brisk breeze. Each glimpse of her slender body was like a erotic dream, the fleeting nature of the flashes of skin caused them to be even more arousing than seeing her completely naked. Several times as you walked you had to stop to adjust the fit of your leggings to allow room for your erection to sit more comfortably, Tri’lanna may be unaware of the effect her body had on you, but there was no doubt in your mind how much you wanted to sample her delights.
To top it off were Thomas’s tales of his exploits in Elohim and how the elves all seemed to be addicted to sex. Each time Tri’lanna lifted her leg high to step onto a wind smoothed boulder revealing the pale silkiness of her thigh you wanted to cup her ass in your hands and pull her into your arms.
As evening approached you started looking for a sheltered spot to spend the night ideally you could find a cave that would protect you from the strong winds that swept the mountainside each evening, but you settled for a small hollow between two large boulders. It was not far from a stream that sprang unexpectedly out of nowhere, and best of all an old gnarled pine tree grew in the sheltered dip in the hillside, and many of its lower branches were dead and would burn well.
Tri’lanna seemed to approve as well and as you collected the deadwood and pinecones from between the roots of the tree she started raking handfuls of dried grass from the surrounding slope. In less than an hour the two of you settled onto a pile of dried grass that Tri’lanna had gathered and leaned against each other enjoying the silent companionship. There was not enough wood to keep a fire going all night so you waited as long as possible before lighting the first small pile. The tar filled wood burned well and lit the small area around like a lantern lighting a room. As always you are aware of the elf’s slender form as she settled back against the makeshift bed and gazed up into the bright stars above.
Does anything happen that night?
