Tracing the call

"Veronica said that she received the call while treating herself to Aria's club, correct?" Liara asked, getting a nod from Jane and Miranda in response. "So, if I hack into her call logs..."

"Then we have our location!" Miranda gasped as the trio got into the skycar. "How long will that take?"

"I managed to put a tracer on her phone before we left, so we should be finding out about..." Liara began, typing in a few things into her omnitool before smiling. "Now! It says it came from... Binthu V?"

"Where's that?" Jane asked.

"It's a research facility about 97 million miles from Binthu Prime." Miranda replied. "Or at least it was. Cerberus abandoned that place about twenty years before I was born."

"Well, we have the location." Jane said, "Let's go save -"

"Excuse me, Commander?" EDI interrupted from Jane's omnitool. "You have a call from Ms. Goto."

"SHEPARD! HOW LONG WERE YOU TWO GONNA KEEP ME FROM FINDING OUT I FILMED MYSELF THE WHOLE TIME?!"

A while later, the three returned back to Shepard's home as the redhead and the asari tried to calm down Kasumi. Outside, Miranda sat on a deck chair and looked up at the moon, only barely noticing Oriana come up to and sit down next to her.

"The first thing I'm going to do when I get Jack in my arms again," Miranda stated, "is snog her until neither of us can breath. And the second thing I'm going to do is ask her to marry me. A real and proper wedding this time! None of this 'Quickie Wedding' bull. Hell, I'd even okay the strippers that I know she'll ask for for our bachelorette party."

"Who are you and what have you done with my sister?" Oriana said with a laugh. At seeing Miranda's glare, the younger sister cleared her throat. "Sorry. I shouldn't have made that joke after what you told us about what you learned. It's just, the last time I saw you, you were practically on your knees begging Shepard and Liara to get you out of this marriage. And now, you're acting like you just lost a part of you."

"I know it's weird." Miranda said, calming down a bit. "It's just, I saw a different side of Jack tonight. Did you know she poured her heart and soul out to me before we made love by the lake? She told me that a part of her was actually happy we ended up in this situation. That she was afraid of dying alone, unwanted, and unloved."

"Wow."

"And she said that she'd kill me if I told that to anyone, so, not a word, please." Miranda added, a look of guilt coming to her face. "I haven't even told her that I... That I love her yet."

"We'll then," Oriana said with a smile, "that should be the real first thing you do when she's back in your arms, isn't it?"

Miranda chuckled as she looked at her younger sister. "She's really rubbing off on you, huh?"

Oriana shrugged and smiled in response as Miranda got up, the two sisters heading back inside. Miranda took a brief pause as she looked back up at the moon. "We're coming for you, Jack! And I'm never letting you go again!"
