To the game!

Not wanting to draw attention to himself either way, he just simply shrugged his shoulders and headed off to the game. His friends always teased him with photos from their games with all the girls and cheerleaders they had at their events. Being a small engineering school in a pretty rough area, cute girls were pretty much non-existant on campus. Dave was used to the fact his section only had 1 or 2 girls even worth looking at. He just went for the games and the cheers that the drunken frat boys would come up with.

Settling into his seat the game went pretty well except for the score line lots of action, lots of hard hits, he forgot what happened, earlier in the night, until the final play. With about 3 seconds left the Engineer squad was down by one, with a last ditch effort the defender just smashed the puck down the ice in frustration. Dave simply muttered "for once can't this goalie just let this through his legs." The goalie was in perfect position to stop this simply shot when all of a sudden he fell forward and the puck slid through his legs and scored with .2 seconds on the clock.

Dave was startled had he really just caused that to happen, had his little phrase knocked the goalie forward. He couldn't believe it, but the doubt was cast. He had to experiment, he didn't want to do anything too revealing. So he simply wished his Coke cup was refilled. He knew noone would be able to tell how much he had left so he thought this was a safe test. He went to pick up the cup and there was definetly a full cup of soda. Smiling to himself he quickly thought about how he must be the luckiest guy on earth.

Wanting to get home quickly, he just said "Score quickly so we can all get home...safely." The lady next to him smiled and said "have a safe trip yourself." Dave nodded and said "I'm sure I will." With that the horn blared as the Engineers had scored just 8 seconds into overtime. With that Dave had the rest of the weekend ahead of him.
