To the doctors

Jamie sat on his bed and went looking through the phone for some clue as to where he should start looking for the woman next. Checking the schedule for the day he saw a Doctor's appointment.

“Great! I can shoot two birds with one stone,” he said excited.

Looking again, he saw that the appointment was soon, however. Realizing that he had better run, he grabbed his purse, since he didn't have pockets, and rushed out of his room. He told Linda that he had to Uber to the doctor's but she insisted that he let her drop him off to save the money. Grateful, he thanked her for the help. He could tell that this living situation was going to work out but he was going to have to make sure he was going to be able to pull his own weight and pitch in around the apartment.

The doctor's office wasn't far but it was coming down to the wire and unfortunately, there was traffic just out outside of the parking lot. Not wanting to miss his chance, Jamie and Linda decided that it would be faster if he ran the rest of the way and that is what he did.

Jamie came running up to the office but slowed down to a brisk walk so not to look crazy though he was breathing very heavy. Behind the desk was a young woman that adjusted her glasses as he came in.

“Hi there, how can I help you?” she asked pleasantly.

Jamie did his best to get out that he was there to see the phone's owner before her appointment. The woman typed into the computer looking for an appointment for that hour and pulled it up and signed Jamie in.

“Got it, have a seat please,” She told him.

Glad he didn't miss the woman yet, Jamie sat down and caught his breath. He sat for a long while before concluding that she wasn't coming, after all. Still, he should still about his his own appointment while he was there. He was about to do just that when a woman came out of a door into the waiting room. She looked at her clipboard and then spoke.

“Next?” she said before looking at Jamie, the only one there.

“Oh, hi. I was actually-” Jamie said.

“Come this way,” she told him in a thick accent of some kind before he could explain.

He got up, a bit confused and followed her into a room and had him step on a scale. He followed directions why trying to explain why he was there as well as the day he had. The pond water and the stings. She took his blood pressure and made notes, though he wasn't sure she understood, exactly. She left and instructed him to strip and put on a medical gown, which he did. Soon after, the doctor arrived and sat down reading Jamie's file.

“So, you are having some swelling?” he asked.

“Yes, that's right,” Jamie told him.

“Let's take a look. Could you pull down the top?” He asked.

Jamie pulled down his top and then remembered he was wearing the bra. His face went red with embarrassment.

“I...got this yesterday...because of the swelling, you know? It has been helping my back,” Jamie attempted to explain through his embarrassment.

“That was a good idea. I recommend you get some more. It can only help. Could you take it off for now?,” he explained to Jamie's who was happy not to be shamed.

Jamie struggled to remove it but eventually got it. The doctor examined his chests, squeezing the mounds and asking about pain. Jamie did notice how sensitive they felt, chills running down his spine as the doctor's fingers explored.

“Everything looks normal here, I prescribe you a few things and you should be feeling better. Could you turn around and bend a little?” He asked.

Jamie did, thinking that the doctor wanted to see the rest of the swelling. What happened was the doctor injected something into his backside.

“Talk to the receptionist for your scripts and to set up your following appointments,” He told Jamie.

After the doctor left, Jamie dressed before going to the receptionist. He did as he was told and, script in hand, headed to the pharmacy.
