"You know," one of mom's friends started complaining, "this room is getting kind of cramped."

"Yeah," mom reiterated, "I say we move on to the common area and watch some TV there."

"That sounds great!" Erica concurred.

"Are you guys still studying?" mom asked Alicia, "I'd hate for Erica to have to go outside naked, but if that's what it takes then so be it."

Erica's eyes filled with dread as they looked pleadingly at Alicia.
