To the Deck

Slinking into the shadows, Nami carefully pushed on through the vessel's interior. On her way she recognized several pirates from back on Sabaody, but no names yet that were worth remembering.

Soon she found her way on deck, and finally outside her jaw dropped at the sight before her.

Instead of open sky above, there was ocean!

Jellyfish swam by like migrating birds, and trees of coral could be seen sprouting along both sides of the near horizon. Upon closer inspection, she could make out the glimmer of a thin veil that surrounded the ship, a coat of bubble protection most likely to allow such an impossible journey.

This ship was sailing underwater!

All hope of return seemed lost, after all how was one to escape from a boat below sea?

"H-Hey! How did you escape?!"

A panicked voice of a crewman brought her back to reality. Her hands tightened around her weapon, her eyes scanning the area as more of the crew started to gather. As the situation steadily escalated, she was reminded of the reality at hand.

It wasn't a matter of how she was going to escape. Rather, she had no other choice but to do so.

The navigator prepared for battle. The gang of pirates charged. And then suddenly the entire ship shook.

Nami fought to keep balance as the boat itself seemed to cry in pain. The screams of the men in front of her were now of terror, no longer focused on the lone girl and instead on the large tentacles slowly coiling around their craft.

"KRAKEN!"

That was the last thing Nami heard as the appendages squeezed down. The bubble protecting the boat burst, and instantly seawater crashed down along with the rest of the world.
