To feel only disconnected

With a *pop* the metal lump in Jesse’s rectum finally came free. He was the last of the four to be released from its chain and weight. Partly because he felt guilty for all the extra trouble he had caused the rest of them… but also because he had been sort of dreading the experience of it coming out as much as when it went in.
