Time To Call HQ

The moment the slave even suggested that she would be punished, Shannon's heart sank. She couldn't do that to this poor creature, already so oppressed by the world she lived in. There had to be some way out of this. She was a galactic professional. She would not stand for this.

"You wait right here. I need to make a call." Shanon held out her hand.

"Of course, take your time." The slave happily chirped from beneath her anonymous helmet. "This one will happily lead you to the suiting room when you're ready."

Shannon walked back into the private entry doc and punched her bosses code into her communicator. If there was a legal challenge that needed being dealt with then the intergalactic police would deal with it.

Some time later, screams loud enough to be heard by the waiting slave burst from the room.

"You can't be serious!" Shanon screamed at the top of her lungs. "Do you know how fucking degrading this is!?"

On the other end of the line, her boss was resolute.

"There's really nothing we can do about this. Our treaty with the planet only extends investigative rights to us. There is no legal right for an investigator to break the law."

But, just to twist the knife a little bit further he added one last thing.

"If you really don't think you can handle it, we can assign another detective to the case..."

"Tsch." Shannon growled and hung up the call.

She could already see it coming. All of the jokes and snide remarks about how she wasn't able to finish her mission. All of this time and boys were still boys. She refused to give them the excuse to laugh at her. To say that she couldn't handle anything that they could. She refused.
