Things Just Get Potentially Kinkier
The three entered the next chamber, and things just had to get weirder. The room they entered a room with a variety of races, including dragons but no sign of any dwarves, scattered throughout the room as statues made from marble, gold, silver, platinum, and some varieties of wood (such as ebony), that all seemed to be naked and devoid of assets to determine their gender. There was also a set of four chests in the room next to the door. Seemingly, all the walls are lined with shelves that had a variety of body parts for the statues in all the different materials the statues were as well. Because of the spacing and positioning of the statues, it wasn't really possible to see any exit doors. Of course, the way out might be concealed, hidden, and/or locked until they solved whatever the puzzle for the room actually was.
"Great," said Evan sarcastically, "more of what we just did to get into the room, only on a grander scale."
"Well, this isn't what I expected when I realized I was in a dungeon," said Nyx as she headed over to the chests. The first, and closest. The second chest had a set of dull green common clothes she quickly donned, a leather cuirass and pants that had been dyed blue which she also threw on, and a set of thieves' tools which she pocketed quickly and hoped had been discreet. The next chest she opened had a pair of daggers, a shortbow with a quiver of 20 arrows, and a shortsword, she positioned each in such a way on her body that they would be next to no hindrance to her movements. Chest 3 had 50 feet of hemp rope, a mess kit, a day's worth of rations, and a waterskin. The last chest held a large shoulder bag, a bedroll, crowbar, 10 torches, and a tinderbox. She loaded most of the things she got into the bag, keeping the tinderbox in a pocket for easy access and hanging the crowbar at her left waist.
"Whoever designed this place had problems," said Clr'klinsa.
"I've heard some scholarly adventurers passing through make comments about dungeons being remnants of prior societies," said Evan, "so, what if this whole place is a reflection of a culture that celebrated sexuality in all its forms they knew about?"
"Doesn't make the place any less annoying," said Clr'klinsa with indignation.
"I'm not going to disagree on that," said Evan, "I'm just saying that it was probably more culturally acceptable for whatever culture or society everything we encountered so far, and likely will in the future, than what we are now. Also, there has to be a reason why things are playing out the way that they are. For now, let's split up and search the room for clues on how to get out of this room and on to the next chamber, the sooner we are out of this uncomfortable place the better."
"Agreed," said both women simultaneously.
The three of them began searching through the chamber, taking great care to avoid contact with the statues unless absolutely necessary, for some sort of clue or hint on how to deal with the problem before them. Evan was at a bit of a loss, Clr'klinsa seemed to be doing much better than him, but it was Nyx that found what would lead to their salvation. Nyx found a hint inscribed on some of the shelves in a language she knew quite well but hadn't seen anyone else familiar with the language, the language of Giants, that said to find 6 figures facing each other, "Two females close to each other, Two males close to each other, two figures with the features of both males and females close to each other." The first two clues sort of made sense, but the third clue was a bit confusing.
"I think I found a clue on what we need to do," Nyx shouted to the others, "it just is a bit more cryptic than I would like." She then shared the clue she found.
