Chapter 8 by CBandit CBandit

What happens next?

They drag her into the ravine

Misty only had a few seconds to scream, pure shock taking her heart and soul, before this alien creature snatched her arm like she was a child. Its grip was horrifyingly tight, its rough skin was as hard as rock, but the most terrifying part was that she could tell it was barely even trying. She was suddenly and violently yanked along with the ape, pulled by her arm and stumbling forward, still screaming. Eventually she just couldn't keep up, lost her footing, and fell on her hip, dragging her supple but slightly heftier body painfully along the ground. Misty couldn't do anything but try to get on her feet as long as she could, her wide and soft hips providing her slight padding as she was dragged from dirt to stone. The scaled apes up ahead in the ravine started hooting and screeching, almost exactly like the apes she was familiar with, and the one dragging her started screaming into the ravine back at them. As they were distracted with each other, a large and hefty stone slid into the open fingers of Misty's free hand as she was pulled deeper inside, and she barely managed to grab hold of it.

Misty's heart was beating a million miles a minute, and her face was totally pale. The ape slowed down slightly as he had to pull her up elevation, which allowed her to get her feet slightly under herself. The scaled ape yanked her arm one more time, nearly pulling her arm out her socket and causing her to scream in pain and fall again. Knowing she only had one shot, she got right back on her feet as fast as she could as the ravine got deeper and darker. If she doesn't escape now, she likely never will.

Using the ape's grip as leverage, she pulled herself towards him and swung down onto his gripping hand with the jagged, heavy stone. It crunched against at least two of his fingers, causing the scaled ape to left go and jump away in pain, screaming and grasping his hand. Right behind him, Misty saw the other two apes turn around to see what he was screaming about, and took her opening. She dipped, shuffled, and ran as hard as her worn out body could muster as the angry apes chased her down. She glanced behind her only to see one of them hop from stone-top to stone-top with ease, gaining on her. She didn't have much time to think of how to lose them, but as she turned back, she started to feel vibrations in the ground, escalating vibrations which were getting closer. Misty had to keep running, but she knew what she was running towards, and she didn't know if she should be more scared of the monster ahead of her or the monsters behind.

Moonlight shone again as Misty neared the ravine exit, vaulting over a short boulder and hearing the apes' heavy grunts and footsteps getting closer. Just as she reached the mouth of the ravine, she felt one of them grab her other arm and yank her to a stop. Violently, Misty was thrown to the ground head first into the rocks as the ape screeched about finally catching her. A large, angular rock smacked against her forehead, above her right eye near her hairline. The pain was immediate and splitting, as was the headache, and she felt as if she wanted to vomit and pass out all at once. On top of that, her ears were ringing and she could feel blood trailing down into her eyebrow. The first ape, the one whose fingers she smashed, was the last to catch up as Misty slowly turned over in the ground, her world spinning. He held the stone she smashed his fingers with in his other hand, and fully enraged by his injury, the ape simply threw it straight at her stomach, causing her to groan and double over in pain, tears rolling down her cheeks. The stone punctured her skin and her green top grew a small red stain from where it landed, a stain that slowly grew from the cut underneath. Misty was in horrible shape, her body was dying in every physical way imaginable: exhaustion, discombobulation, reeling stomach, and a head injury. On top of that, she was emotionally fried from all the fear and shock, and was nearly out of willpower to keep fighting.

As her senses cleared up, she could feel the thudding of distant footsteps were not so distant anymore. As her double vision turned back into one, and as she gained the will to focus her eyes again, she could see that the apes had stopped paying attention to her and turned their heads toward the tree-line, spotting a tall, dark, massive silhouette slipping between the gaps in the trees. It was rapidly getting closer, shaking the ground as it neared as if an 18 wheeler was barreling through the forest. The apes took a step back, glancing at one another as the silhouette drew even closer before finally bursting through the tree-line, snapping a dozen branches as he did so. Landing in front of them, the beast stood up straight as he sized them up. The moonlight illuminated his entire body for Misty, and she saw that he even stood just like a man, unlike the slouched creatures surrounding her.

"Oh my God," she thought. "He must be ten feet tall..."

The beast was extremely athletic, built to survive and covered in a gleaming layer of sweat mixed with a bit of dirt. His muscles were bulky and humongous compared to her, and covered in body hair, especially his chest and stomach. His thick, vascular arms ended in calloused hands, one of which held Misty's brown hoodie, which he likely picked up while tracking her. Around his waist, she got a better look at the fur he wore, draping down to right above his knees and colored just like her hoodie: dark brown. She couldn't tell what animal it was by looking at it, but as she stared at the pelt, she noticed the very obvious and unbelievably large bulge in the fur right over his crotch. Even in a state of survival, Misty felt a spreading warmth deep beneath her belly at the sheer sight of him.

The beast's green eyes pierced through them all, his mere presence causing the apes to back away from Misty, placing her in the middle of the two sides. She managed to get onto her hands and knees and looked to her left and right. On one side, she saw the scaled apes, who looked either angry or terrified, and on the other was the beast, whose moonlit visage was carved into a mask of burning fury.

Who should Misty crawl to?
